The Sachsenhausen-Oranienburg concentration camp situated just outside Berlin’s city limits, held over 200, 000 prisoners during the Nazi reign. The camp became a school of brutality, used to train SS guards for work in other camps across Europe. It now stands as a memorial and reminder of the darkest days of Berlin's history.
Your tour starts in Berlin, where you will meet with your guide and ride to the camp outside of the city. This involves the use of public transport, so you will need to purchase an ABC day transport ticket for this tour. When you arrive, you will be able to walk through and see the different parts of the camp including the appellplatz (roll call square), the barracks, the pathology department, the Zellenbau (Gestapo prison), the extermination center, and crematorium.
At the end of the tour, you will ride back to Berlin. The full duration will be around 5.5 hours (including travel time), and food & drinks are not included on the tour.

Loved the tour. Our guide was amazing, I can’t remember his name but he is from Dublin. Would really recommend him and this tour if you want to learn more about the history.

Ernestina was our tour guide for the day and she was absolutely wonderful. She was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the subject. All of our questions were answered in detail. The instructions to buy an ABC ticket before arrival at the tour were very clear and Ernestina made it clear that we could not wait for members of the group who had not followed the instructions which I appreciated as it is not fair to hold the rest of the group up. The only downside to the day is that there was not enough time to go into all of the exhibitions on site. The tour is itself is kinda lacking, our guide in spanish didn’t really care much about explaining anything and didn’t put any emotion, he looked bored. However, Ernestina from the English tour -with whom we did the free walking tour and was amazing- was happy to help us and provided more detailed explanations and even accompanied us to the train station and helped us get home. I really recommend Ernestina if you are planning on going, it will make the tour worth itMake sure to be there BEFORE the designated departure time. Make sure to be there BEFORE the designated departure time. We arrived by 4 minutes late due to train irregularities, and found that the group had already left. But we managed to find them in Sachsenhausen. As soon as we realized that we were gonna be a few minutes late, we tried several times calling the UK contact number on the ticket. But to our frustration, all we got was an unclear answering machine with an extension number that didn't work. No-one made an attempt to contact us when we didn't show. Disappointing and not good service! The guide was good, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, interested, and clear, and she covered a lot of information in a relatively short time. But she was American and we would have preferred a native guide instead of a foreigner repeating to a foreigner what anyone can read in a book. "Tickets included" is misleading, there was free entry to the sites we visited.Hannah was our tour guide for the day. She was excellent. Hannah was our tour guide for the day. She was excellent. Very passionate about her subject and telling it in a way that was very informative and interesting. The whole story around what the Nazis did in the concentration camps was really harrowing and Hannah was very sensitive and respectful to all those that died during this terrible time. Once of the best tours I have done in a long while and would highly recommend the tour for anyone that wants to get a greater understanding of what happened. This is a must when you are in Berlin. "Tina" from Australia was our guide. When she spoke you could feel how passionate she was around the subject. I would recommend this experience.
