"great people. bad tour". That's what the general consensus was from our group following the Rum & Reggae tour. THE CONS: Our start time got bumped from 11 am to 2 pm (which wasn't a big deal) but the tour still started about 40 mins late. We weren't given the "unlimited" Rum Punch until after our 3rd stop - and the group had to repeatedly ask for it and ended up chanting "rum! rum! rum!" until we were finally given it. The punch was yummy but was basically just two jugs of punch that was sitting in the hot van all day...we had to take the shuttle bus to a convenience store to buy ice, lol. The spots we stopped at were all owned by the same company and kind of felt like a tourist cash trap. We weren't taught anything about the products, history, business, etc. and the only place that had a formal "tour" was the Distillery - which was privately owned and ran by the actual distillery employees. The chocolate shop gives you one teeny-tiny piece of chocolate to sample that wasn't very good. We spent almost 2 hours at the wine distillery (wine? on a rum tour???) and didn't have enough time to make it to Cable Beach and learn about Bob Marley or any history of the island. THE PROS: On the plus side, we met some really fun people on the tour who made the excursion not a total waste of time - which is why I'm not giving this review 0 stars. We had a positive attitude throughout and sort of rolled with the punches despite the tour not being worth the $80 CAD ticket. Our tour guide, Clever, was very nice and personable (and fun!) but I wish she provided more info/insight/history. It didn't really feel like a tour, but more of a drinking excursion. I would not recommend this tour at its current price. In my honest opinion, this tour is worth around $30 for what you get (or don't get...) not $80So disorganized, they moved our tour time the day before and the tour still started 30 minutes late. They changed tour guides half way through. Because they started so late half the places on the schedule were already closed. There was very little rum and no rhythm or reggae.
