Stop At: Echo Canyon River Expeditions, 45000 W US Highway 50, Canon City, CO 81212-9735
Check in at the Echo Canyon office, and we'll walk you through the process of preparing for your rafting trip. Echo provides personal flotation devices (life jackets), helmets, professional guides on each raft, and transportation to and from the river access points.
Duration: 3 hours
Additional information
- Guests should be in good physical condition and at least 14 to 18 years of age; water levels dictate the minimum age, with peak levels occurring typically in early June
- Not wheelchair accessible
- Swimming ability is necessary
- Dress appropriately for wet conditions. Swim suits, shorts or synthetic garments recommended. Always avoid cotton.
- Secure footwear and sport sandals are ideal. Flip flops and slip-on sandals are not deemed appropriate footwear.
- Wetsuit, splash jacket, and river shoes available onsite at no charge
- Not recommended for travelers with back problems
- Not recommended for pregnant travelers
- No heart problems or other serious medical conditions
- Travelers should have a strong physical fitness level
- A liability release form must be completed for each traveler prior to rafting. Any guest under the age of 18 MUST have our release form signed by a parent or legal guardian and submitted prior to joining us for any trip.
- Expect a phone from Echo Canyon after reserving. We will collect your email address and so we can send you a link to complete your online liability release forms.
- This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund
- This tour/activity will have a maximum of 150 travelers
- Confirmation will be received at time of booking

The whole trip was very organized and great. We were anxious and had a lot of questions but the lady in the front was patient and answered all of our questions without getting annoyed. It was super organized and called everyone by name and instructions were very clear. Our guide Mora was so nice...

It was super organized and called everyone by name and instructions were very clear. Our guide Mora was so nice and she talked us through everything and got to know us really well. The route is great with some breaks in the middle and it was a great experience. Will for sure come again.Great experience. Maura was an amazing guide! It was well organized, lots of fun, and we felt safe. We’ve done Big Horn, but the Royal Gorge trip was our favorite.

This was our second trip with Echo Canyon and with Alfredo as our guide. First trip was 5 years ago and they continue to deliver! Would definitely recommend. Location has full bar and grill, changing rooms and full wetsuit if needed included in the price.

Echo Canyon River Expeditions was such an amazing experience! My 2 sons (14 yrs/17 yrs) and 2 nephews (16 yrs/20 yrs) rafted the Big Horn Sheep Canyon with Alfredo as their guide. To say that they loved their time with him is an understatement. They could not stop talking about what a great time they had. They loved it so much that they asked to come back the next day to raft the more intense route through the Royal Gorge, requesting Alfredo as their guide. What an amazing experience for them! As a mom and not being with them, I was feeling the nerves of allowing my kids to participate in such a fast, high-adventure activity. Needless to say, there was nothing to be nervous about because they were in the best hands with Alfredo. So many of his coworkers sang his praises and I am so happy my children got to have that time with him. Thank you, Alfredo, for keeping them safe and making their first (and second!) white water rafting trips such wonderful experiences!Did the full day rafting, 20 miles of fun times! Mickey was fantastic as our guide, the Royal Gorge was wild, what rafting should be! Was after the flood warnings, so was higher than normal. Have heard the first half is typically calmer at normal water levels.
