With the help of our professional guide we had the chance to see the fortress of Qaitbay in Rosetta (Rashid) where the Rosetta Stone was found. We also had a walk in the Souk to see the daily life of the people living there and to see nice old buildings from the 17th and 18th century. With a short boat trip we also reached the oldest mosque in the town. The only thing I would mention as an improvement is that the time defined on Viator is wrong. The tour takes about 4 to 5 hours including the transfer and not 8 to 9 hours. We had an amazing day in Rosetta with guide Karim and driver Mohamed from Alexandria. We had an amazing day in Rosetta with guide Karim and driver Mohamed from Alexandria. They took us to places such as the Qaitbey fort, city museum, through the town/market, and a boat ride on the meeting of the Nile and Mediterranean. Throughout the day they were knowledgeable about everything. It was my friend's birthday and they got her a cake and smoothies, making her day even more special than it already was. Booking process was very easy and they accommodated a slightly later pick up time to give us time to check out for our last day. Highly recommend this tour and using the company for any other excursions in the great country of Egypt.Rashid (otherwise known as Rosetta) is where the famous stele was found that now rests in the British Museum. Rashid (otherwise known as Rosetta) is where the famous stele was found that now rests in the British Museum. The Rosetta Stone was written in three different languages: Egyptian demonic script, Greek and Hieroglyphics and gave a direct clue to the transcription of Hieroglyphics. This town is located where the Nile Delta meets the Mediterranean Sea. Important industries are fresh and saltwater fishing, ship building and brick making.Visit to the Castle build at the site of the Old lighthouse was my favurite part of the tour. Visit to the Castle build at the site of the Old lighthouse was my favurite part of the tour. Was a beautiful castle with amazing view of the seaside. Tour was very well organised by Ramasside Tours with local guide was Mohammed. Very comfortable car provided. Kohammed was a very knowledgeable and entertaining guide. We were given not only a good background of each location but also history of the city and Mohammed also advised us on what we could do in our spare time and also bought us lovely ice creams and coffee treats. One of my friend got ill and both Mohammed and the driver drive around the city early in the morning to find medications for her. Rosetta has 2 main attractions. Although the city might have some fly problems the second location of an old mosque by the river was amazing. The boat ride to the mosque was very nice and I loved just relaxing there. It was a private tour so we had a lot of flexibility if we wanted to extend and appreciate a location longer. The hotel was amazing and a lovely private beach and also next to Stanley Bridge with lots of cafes and beachside restaurants.
