What to expect
It's time to prepare and cook your dishes. This is where the fun really begins. The cooking chef Apple will teach you how to prepare your ingredients the Thai way. Starting with basic curry pastes and Thai seasonings, then cooking techniques before finally creating your impressive Thai meal.
After learning to cook your Thai food there is one more important step in creating a Thai meal to impress your friends. You need to present it in an appetising manner and you will even learn some simple food carving tricks. Then you all dine together in true Thai style and try all the other delicious dishes the class has cooked. I’m getting hungry just thinking about this.
All the fresh ingredients which are used for the Khao Lak Thai cooking class are sourced locally, fresh from the daily market. You will shop with no-plastic bags. Any left over food waste is turned in compost which is used in the herb garden at Riverside.

• Morning Cooking Class - Visit a local fresh market in Khao Lak before starting to prepare your favourite dish. In every class Thai spring rolls are always included.
• Afternoon Course with Sweet Thai Dessert - The afternoon class is without the market tour. Instead you will learn how to make a sweet dessert with Banana in Coconut Milk.

Apple showed individuals how to prep their pre selected recipes but also talked through the spring rolls as a team. She took her time with us and didn’t rush the experience. The food was delicious. My husband and I love Thai food and have also taken several Thai cooking classes, already. The afternoon with Apple was great and a lot of fun, the location was really nice. Since you prepare everything yourself, you really get to learn it. The recipes are easy to understand and delicious. I have eaten many spring rolls over the years, but Apple's recipe is by far the tastiest. On top of that, there's a little crash course in vegetable carving, which was a lot of fun and made for great laughs. Highly recommend doing a thai cooking class with Apple at her Riverside cooking school!Apple was an amazing teacher and was so welcoming and friendly. If you love Thai food this is a must. One of the best experiences of the holiday.

We booked this class on a recent trip to Khao Lak and it turned out to be one of the highlights. Apple has a lovely infectious personality and the tour of the market was insightful (and a bit smelly!) but Apple guided us through it with a great sense of humour and lots of local knowledge. It was certainly an eye opener. The cooking class itself was held at her stunning riverside café. The ingredients were already laid out (I made massaman curry and my wife made pork and shrimp salad...yum-yum), it all looked beautifully fresh. Thai cooking with the right ingredients is quick and simple and Apple does a superb job of making the morning an immensely enjoyable and informative experience. She also picked us up from our hotel and safely delivered us back with full bellies afterwards. A great experience!!!
