This is actually our second Tour with Jose (Wine Taste Lovers). My husband and I first travelled to Rioja in September of 2016 and went on an amazing wine tour with Jose. He taught us so much about Rioja wine, brought us to great wineries, and served us an amazing lunch (which had been prepared by his wife) in a cave. As wine lovers we always seek out a winery or a wine tour when we travel, our day with Jose has been the bar for which all of our subsequent adventures have been compared. We were fortunate enough to travel back to Logrono last month and experience another amazing day with Jose. He took us to different wineries than our prior tour and spent time reminding us of what we had forgotten and teaching us new gems about Rioja wines. Lunch was again an unforgettable experience, inside of a wine barrel at the Bodega he now owns. The food was amazing, rated the best meal of our trip by our entire party. We look forward to traveling to Rioja again and will of course seek out Jose.It was the highlight of our trip to the north of Spain! It was the highlight of our trip to the north of Spain! Jose is warm, hospitable and incredibly knowledgeable about Rioja region. He showed us the beautiful Rioja country, tasted some of the best wines of the region, and finished with a delicious home cooked dinner prepared by his wife Yosune in his enchanting “bodega”. They were so kind and welcoming we felt we were visiting old friends. He even made arrangements to deliver a toy that my child left in his van. The experience was much more than just a tour. Por el servicio personalizado , las catas de los vinos , la visita para fotografiar a bodegas por su arquitectura y el almuerzo en la Bodega del Tesoro , un lugar histórico y singular 100% recomendable para conocer los vinos Rioja .Amazing drive around the vinyards. Amazing day with Juan Manuel, visiting and tasting the wines and vineyards of the Rioja region. We received a full history of the region, it’s geography, the grapes, the wines and the foods from our guide Juan and the hosts at each vineyard we visited. Spectacular countryside, beautiful vineyards and great Rioja wines that we tasted and consumed rather heavily. Juan takes you through several gorgeous towns finally at the end of day we stopped at his newly converted winery, which we toured and then had a wonderful meal inside a huge winecask. We made it back to Logrono, groggy and overjoyed by the experience. This tour is well worth the expense. Don’t waste your time if you don’t like wine and learning a lot about them. We enjoy doing both and we had the most wonderful time. I highly recommend this tour.OMG! How do I capture what a beautiful day this was? OMG! How do I capture what a beautiful day this was? Jose, and his hospitality made this one of our best days ever. We have done wine tours in numerous countries but this exceeds them all. Not only did we taste great wine and learn about Rioja wine, but we were treated as guests in Jose's own winery and tasting room. It was an amazing day. If you're thinking about it, just do it! We came to Logrono for the sole purpose of a good tour and this far exceeded any hopes we had. Bravo!
