The tour was well organized. The historic storytelling was well researched. The food tastings were delicious and sometimes adventurous. A good food tour is like a finely choreographed dance. In contrast, this tour was erratic. In other food tours, we spent time comfortably at each stop. However, most of this tour was spent standing and some of the stops were questionable. For example, we spent a lot of time talking about a time capsule in one building that local authorities were denying. Why? According to the description, we were supposed to spend a significant amount of time at the Lancaster Central Market. I would have like to spend more time in the market. Instead, we went to one counter, got a piece of cheese, a piece of bologna some nuts, and left. We had a larger group so maybe that was part of the issue but still, some additional planning would be beneficial. We were only able to sit inside ONE restaurant. To be fair, we did have a table outside of Lancaster farmers market and one in front of a fried chicken restaurant but it wasn't very comfortable. There were some benches/chairs at some of the other locations but not enough for everyone. My other issue was that several of the food stops involved communal food, which I really wasn't comfortable with given the increase in COVID in the area. For example, two containers of chicken strips were shared with the group. I would have preferred individual servings for all food choices. Overall, I enjoyed the stories and enthusiasm but I wasn't a fan of the execution.
