What to expect

Itinerary

After a 30-minute bus drive from town, you'll suit up in your rafting gear. Your safety is always a main concern so prior to departure on the river, your guides will provide a safety talk. All our guides are trained in First Aid, CPR and are federally licensed. After the safety talk there is a 5-minute portage down a road (built for Marilyn Monroe!) to the river.

The river trip starts with a bang. Starting at the base of the spectacular Athabasca Falls, you'll raft 15 kilometers down the majestic Athabasca Valley. Once out in the main current, the first set of rapids is only seconds’ way. Once these rapids have soaked everyone in the raft, you'll find yourself in a spectacular canyon only seen from the river.

Was totally awesome...an hour and a half of adventure, new friends and unbeatable natural beauty. The only sort of negative thing was the wet suit and life jacket were a bit stinky. They could probably spend a bit more energy on sanitizing the gear between each usage.

The trip was fun. The guides are organized and informative. The run was easier than we anticipated but we still enjoyed it. Next time I will attempt a more challenging run. Good for families with younger children.

Our family overall had a fun time rafting. The crew were professional and cheerful attitude throughout the trip from start to finish. We didn’t expect to swim in the cold glacier melt river but immediately we were swimming. Lorenzo our guide was an expert and got all of us back into the boat. Re...
