We will lead you throughout the streets to meets traditional craftsmen. We will savor their specialties, before ending our tour at the mythic Kasbah of the Oudayas.
You will savor many big classics of the Moroccan gastronomy made by different renown food craftsmen set in for many years now within the ancient medina of the city of Rabat.

We'll be walking in this historical avenue with the French style architecture, to reach the old Medina, But our first tasting stop will be right by the end of this boulevard
Stop At: Central Market, Mohamed 5, Rabat 20000, Morocco

We'll be walking in the streets and alleyways of the median and taste many local specialities
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Dar El Medina, 3 rue benjelloul souk sebbat, Rabat, Morocco

Stop At: Kasbah des Oudaias, off Rue des Consuls, Rabat 10030 Morocco
we'll enjoy a visit of this historical fortress as well as our final tasting stop a dessert Moroccan mint tea and almond cookies

We were hoping for more in-depth explanation of moroccan cooking and foods and signed up for “with local” that would have ended with lunch in home of Haja, but presumably because of low numbers, they switched us to “old town” tour that ends in an unremarkable and hot restaurant, without that bein...
We were hoping for more in-depth explanation of moroccan cooking and foods and signed up for “with local” that would have ended with lunch in home of Haja, but presumably because of low numbers, they switched us to “old town” tour that ends in an unremarkable and hot restaurant, without that being clear until we got there. Also, our guide (Hishram?), while an upbeat, flexible and nice guy - did not so much focus on an organized and educational explanation of food (though the tastings are good and plentiful) as it became more of a nice intro to the medina. Bottom line: fine as long as expectations are aligned.Absolutely fantastic tour! Not only will you taste wonderful food and drinks, you get insight into Moroccan history and culture. Our guide was so generous with his time, it was a wonderful introduction to the country. Come hungry as there is a lot of food and you won’t want to miss a taste!

It was wonderful to learn a bit more about Moroccan culture and traditions through this food. Here is a photo of each of the breads. We are still making more! (And stopping here and there to have tastes - we can’t resist). The melted butter and honey is such a delicious match. And we will also try the peanut / almond butter with honey and argan/ olive oil. And cheese too! We also look forward to making these for our friends and family! In fact, the batch we are now cooking we will bring down to our friend who runs a coffee shop a couple of blocks from where we live. We look forward to seeing his smile! It was perfectly laid-back, we felt comfortable going at our own pace, the meal prep was flexible, and we chatted about ingredients, Moroccan culture, and picked up some authentic tips! (and of course the end result tasted amazing). We have wanted to go to Morocco for a long time, and when we do get to make that trip, doing this again (this time in-person) is definitely on the list!Great host.
