Stop At: EAST-WEST / WEST-EAST by Richard Serra, Brouq Nature Reserve, Doha Qatar
This breathtaking sculpture in the Brouq nature reserve spans over a kilometre and comprises four steel plates, each over fourteen metres in height. To guarantee perfect alignment, Serra examined the topography of the land and beautifully enhanced the vast, desolate space in the heart of the desert. The result is spectacular and although modern, timeless.
Duration: 25 minutes
Stop At: Zekreet Beach, Al-Rayyan Qatar
Zekreet Beach (also known as Ras Abrouq Beach) shows nature at its most picturesque. The limestone escarpment featuring cliffs, pillars, and rocks makes the topography unusual. The sedimentary rocks along the shoreline and huge mushroom shaped structures made from limestone offer an arresting and ethereal site.

An afternoon with Salman is a pleasure. He is a happy man (just became a father 1 month ago!). The camel race training was amazing, the rocks fabulous and the east to west art breathtaking. But the best thing is the pleasant company of Salman. He took a lot of pictures for me (being on a solo tour) offered me a nice Arabic tea and lots of cold water. I really enjoyed the 4 hour tour and it was a great way to finish my stay in Qatar. I wish Salman lots of good fortune with his family, a perfect FIFA World Cup and may Pakistan win the cricket game next time. My advice to visitors: get out of the city and take a tour with Salman. Film city is closed.Amazing Tour, I really enjoy the Rock Formations. I was impressed to see Richard Serra Stunning Sculpture. My Tour Guide was very kind & took care of me to go up to the Formations, he was very patient. I asked him to drop me at Mall of Qatar & I'm here

Our guide Ali was very nice, personable, accommodating and communicative (via WhatsApp). While we drove to the sites he talked to us a bit about his life in Doha and the history of the Qatar. At each site he took photos for us and made sure that everyone was safe. (Note: Film City was shut down so was not part of the tour -- unsure if it's still closed or if it's been reopened.) After the tour Ali recommended some good places for us to eat lunch in the city and he drove us straight there. Highly recommended!Five stars for our tour guide Muhammad. Five stars for our tour guide Muhammad. As a Qatari native, he was able to impart lots of local knowledge, and happy to answer all of our questions. He was flexible, and accommodated our request to be dropped off at Souq Waqif after the tour. The itinerary to west Qatar was interesting, but it is about a one hour drive each way from Doha. If you have only one day to tour the area, it might be better to do the city tour, but if you have time, then West Qatar will definitely round out your experience.Bilal was an excellent driver & host who is very knowledgeable on not on the contents of the tour, but Qatar as well. A very informative trip. A great way to spend half a day, and something I would recommend to anyone. Fantastic
