Enrique was our engaging guide for this tour of the local ruins at Copalita. He had a unique perspective and a passion and enthusiasm for his culture. He was also very knowledgeable of the local area fauna and flora. We saw boat-billed herons and had a coatimundi cross our path. Enrique’s descriptions and explanations were thorough and accurate. We were lucky enough to have a small memento of our tour that he found for us - a “deer eye”, which is the seed of a climbing vine present in the area. Book this tour and request Enrique, if you want to learn more about the local area and culture. You won’t be disappointed! The wealth of knowledge from the staff of Homie Tours is truly inspiring, and amazing. They have so much to offer, and can honestly answer any question you can think of, and if they can't, they will find the answer for you. They even cater to us white folk that have a hard time in the heat and humidity, they seriously do a good job making you comfortable. You really truly honestly need to take advantage of Homie Tours and take in the beauty and culture this area has to offer. My son and I very much enjoyed this. Our guide, Alberto, was a great guide with plenty of information but also comfortably engaged with his guests at both a personal and academic level. The tour greatly improved my knowledge of the Copalita area and how it fit into the greater pre colonial culture. After a half century of historical tours I seldom find any that improve my insights very much. But this one has some surprises.
