I don't like heights. The reviews are right, this is awesome. A true adrenaline rush. Each and every one of the drops was an experience. The guys all made it as great as it could be and, although I was petrified, vi felt 100% safe the entire time. Just go do it. Amazing!

We had a wonderful experience with the entire pure trek crew, they were awesome and very professional. It was the first time for most of us and the guides took the time to make sure that everyone was comfortable and safe in doing an amazing canyoning experience. Diego was exceptionally caring and fun, gracias Diego, Antonio por mantener todo el sitio seguro y a todos los demás del equipo. We do not only recommend Pure Trek but will certainly see everyone when back to Arenal. We began the day in the offices of Pure Trek Canyoning, greeted by charming staff, adorable wandering felines and hot delicious coffee. Comfortable transport was on hand to take is into the forest, where sturdy customized 4x4 trucks shuttled us into the depths of the canyon for waterfall rappelling. Yes, it is as fabulous as it sounds. Perhaps more so. The hikes between stations were so beautiful we wished we had hours just to explore the surroundings. A few of the group were absolutely terrified, but swallowed their fear in favor of adventure, and came out of the canyon stronger than when they entered, proud and exhilarated. Our two 14-year-old boys were positively giddy. But wait, there's more. We returned to the Pure Trek offices and were treated to a much-needed and delicious hot lunch with fresh fruit juices. I was ready to go back and do it all over again, but it's just as well that we didn't, because the next rung on our ladder of joy was a trip to Club Rio, at The Springs Resort and Spa a short distance up the road from the Pure Trek offices. Oh my mercy! Incredible grounds, friendly and helpful staff, superb organization. We checked in, took a shuttle down to the Club Rio area, where we had a very pleasant stroll through the wildlife preserve where I made friends with a lovely Toucan named Bob, and was closer to some big cats than I would ever care to be without glass between us. Next, we tubed on down the river, and I cannot even tell you how much fun we had. The river guides were genial and fun from the jump. We chanted and laughed on the bus down to the river, and pretty much never stopped laughing the whole time. The activity was both relaxing and exhilarating, and I highly recommend it. Post-tubing, we availed ourselves of several hot springs in the Club Rio area, and after that, shuttled back to The Springs proper, hopped into the pool and wadded over to the bar, where a strawberry-banana smoothie and vanilla milkshake kept the lads happy while the mamas availed themselves of adult beverages. Because they are savvy enough to put the drinks in plastic glasses, we waded over to an adjacent hot spring to drink in both the scenery and our beverages. By the time we left the springs, my skin was soft as a baby's bottom. Because we had lunch at Pure Trek, our concierge there, Delvis, arranged for us to have dinner included rather than the customary lunch. We ate at one of the restaurants on site, Tres Cascadas, and had a delicious three-course meal that pleased both the boys who normally order pizza everywhere (thank goodness that was not on the fixed menu!), and the mamas. Service was swift and friendly, the food perfectly prepared and presented. All four of us were so happy with all that we experienced, we could have ended our vacation after the first day and been perfectly happy. Put your vacation in the hands of the staff at Pure Trek, and have the time of your life!Rappelling down waterfalls was exhilarating! Rappelling down waterfalls was exhilarating! The guides were so much fun and the preparation they provided us was thorough. If you have the slightest inkling that this is something you might enjoy - GO FOR IT! We combined Canyoning with a half day pass at Club Rio. Club Rio is located at a beautiful resort. We had hoped to go tubing but the river was too fast for it to be safe. We took an awesome horseback ride where we saw mo keys and toucans. Instead of tubing we ended up visiting the animal sanctuary on-site. This tour was more than I expected. The guide is super knowledgeable and he allowed us into the aviary with the toucans and into the area with the sloths. So cool! This was our favorite day in the La Fortuna area. I would recommend it to anyone. This was a thrill for our famliy and on the trek they provide everything you need. This was a thrill for our famliy and on the trek they provide everything you need. The trip to the canyon is easy and fun and the guides are all so helpfull and friendly. They helped small kids and adults that were really frightened and were so kind and encouraging without any attitude at all !! They made the trip amazing for us and the company should be so proud of the team. A small issue was that when they provide the photos you get all the photos for your trip of everyone and that is a huge amount of memory and time. Really a small issue that i mention because it is so easy to fix. Their is a shower for hte after canyoning and a real nice sit down lunch. Our famliy had nothing but praise for this group and would recommend this to just about anyone. We did the canyoning trip one afternoon whilst staying in La Fortuna and it was a real highlight. We did the canyoning trip one afternoon whilst staying in La Fortuna and it was a real highlight. We were picked up from our hotel, treated to a delicious Tico style lunch and then taken on a very bumpy but fun ride up to the first (and highest!) canyon. We were in a small group of five so there wasn't much hanging around. The staff made clear that safety was a priority but ensured we all had a great time. They also took some great photos of us which we purchased for $25 at the end.
