We were initially disappointed by the fact that Holger could not make the day and we were allocated another tour guide. We only decided to take this rather expensive private tour because Holger's review was so good. But the another guide called, Andreas was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable ( I believe that he studied History in University). My husband who is very interested in history was very happy with Andreas' guide.Holger was recommended to us and did not disappoint. We took a private tour so that we could ask lots of questions and focus on what interested us most. He delivered a very interesting commentary in excellent English.

We spent two mornings with Holger, one in Potsdam and one in Berlin. He was able to walk us through the history of the Battle of Berlin and the Soviet Rule, as well as adding several interesting side notes on urban development under the Soviets. Holgers passion for history and his hometown made the outing so much more than your usual tour guide led info tour. It left us wanting to know more about the special sights of Potsdam. His english was excellent and the personalization of the tour was a huge benefit for us as we were a mixed group of 2 Americans (one was 15) and 2 locals from Potsdam plus a baby in a stroller. I would highly recommend Holger as a guide for anyone wanting to know alittle bit about Potsdam and the Cold War.For our group of 3, the short walking tour with Holger, a Potsdam local was one of the best tours we had during our trip. For our group of 3, the short walking tour with Holger, a Potsdam local was one of the best tours we had during our trip. His insights were unique and so informative (with old pictures even!). We specially enjoyed his personal anecdotes of a young boy growing up in Soviet Potsdam and the numerous beautiful areas around the lake and bridge. We highly recommend Holger of Berlins Taiga.
