We booked a private tour with transfers included to the highlights in Nicaragua. Spending 6-day with Gerald from Duran Tours Nicaragua was magical. I have been lucky enough to travel the world extensively, but I had some hesitations about visiting Nicaragua due to the political situation and safety. However, was I wrong. Nicaragua is extremely safe, the people are lovely, the food is incredible, the culture is intact, and it is cheaper than its neighboring countries, especially Costa Rica. To me, Nicaragua felt like an untouched version of Costa Rica. During our 6-day journey, we visited many of the highlights, including León, Lake Nicaragua, Masaya Volcano, Granada, etc. Gerald knew all the best spots to visit and experiences to be had. Gerald was extremely professional and always punctual. Had a vast knowledge of Nicaragua and its history. We also travelled with Alejandro Lee who is a birding professional. Both took great care of us. Highly recommend. On top of all this , both are extremely kind and good company.
