The Jatun Yacu River is a beautiful class III River in the Amazon region. Due to rainy season, the water level was quite high- we had the chance to start with a class IV rapid (!!!) which made the trip an unforgettable adventure! We were a group of three rookie girls having so much fun on (and in) the river! We managed to conquer the waves and the rapids thanks to the excellent guidance of our guide Tovi. Flipping, falling out of the raft and swimming made the whole trip even more fun- we took all safety instructions to heart. Our safety kayaker Jair took awesome pictures during the tour. Thank you guys so much for this wonderful first rafting experience on Río Jatun Yacu!!I went on the two day trip with Tovi our instructor. I went on the two day trip with Tovi our instructor. The whole trip was setup with great detail, from helping us navigate the rivers with ease to catering for my vegetarian diet. Tovi has built a very unique jungle camp which he has endeavoured to make as eco friendly, local friendly and natural as possible. It really comes to life when you pick your own food and cook it under the stary night sky. The scenery on two day some how managed to exceed the first along the river. I highly recommend this trip for anyone looking for an authentic experience of paddling in the Jungle.I second what most people said; Toby and the team make this place. I second what most people said; Toby and the team make this place. After traveling around the world, you sometimes get tired of that business owner/guide-client relationship, where the people are friendly, but it's obviously because they have to be for their job. Wouldn't it be better if you just went and hung out with people who seemed like your friends?! That's what this place was like for me. Maybe it's because I'm from Tennessee, and that's where Toby, the co-owner, cut his rafting chops. I ran the gamut of tours: a fairly expensive day trip that included kayaking (easy), tribal village visits, the zoo, more kayaking, and cutting through both primary and secondary forest. The next day, I hadn't had enough of the rivers around Tena, so I went tubing. It costs me just a few bucks to get tubes, a taxi, a cooler, ice, and beer, and I got dropped off solo north of town with good information with Toby. It was a blast. The third day, I went rafting, and it was EXTREME! I never felt scared because Toby is a great guide, and we had two rescue kayaks. We actually needed to use them because the river was so big and people were flying out of the boats (not the guides' faults, the water is just really, REALLY high now). It was one of my best ever whitewater trips, even though I lost my camera due to the huge waves ripping my lanyard apart. Toby sold me his new, barely used one at discount since he felt bad for me. Plus, he had local artisans make us souvenirs (rock carvings on necklaces) to commemorate our trip. All said, I highly recommend this operation. I went to some other operators in town (e.g., Rios Ecuador) and asked them what the tour schedule was, and they said "I don't know." If you work at a tour agency, shouldn't the tour schedule be the ONE thing you need to know for your job?! Anyway, enough complaining. Go out with these guys, and you'll have a great time.My business, Senior Travel Companion Serviecs, LLC, involves taking seniors and disabled individuals on trips. My business, Senior Travel Companion Serviecs, LLC, involves taking seniors and disabled individuals on trips. I brought Elizabeth to Ecuador and the Galapagos to experience the flora and fauna she craved. Our tour guide, Latin America for All, arranged a rafting trip with AquaExtreme and it was the highlight of our trip! Danny and Giovanni strapped Elizabeth's chair to the raft, gave her a paddle, and we spent the afternoon safely navigating easy and class 3 rapids and enjoying the beautiful Napo river. The shore lunch was terrific as well. In the safety kayak, Giovanni entertained us with tricks and in our raft, while Danny identified what we were seeing, as well as comfortably guiding us down the river. Elizabeth is unable to walk on her own, but on that special day, she had the adventure of a lifetime!Phenomenal guides with lots of rafting experience and the best water rafting price in Tena! Our guides went out of there way to show us Tena even after our trip was over. Would definitely recommend them.

For the first time ever, we whitewater raft on the Napa River. It was awesome! The guides were extremely fun and great at their jobs. Most of us were beginners and our guide in particular showed us some fun and games on the raft. We capsized three times and I wouldn't have it any other way! A kayak was there for our safety and he was even willing to take pictures using my camera! The tour was long and tiring but it was well worth it - I think that is the only way we were able to do some games on the raft. I would never hesitate to do it all over again! Just as a reminder: bring some money on you. Because you can purchase some souvenirs at lunch time and you need a few coins to use the immaculate bathroom facilities (it even has shower facilities).
