The biggest Christian Church all around the world, this is the way is still today considered this Church. Built on the previous Roman Basilica, it is the result of 120 years of works. Inaugurated in 1626, it will surprise you for its majesty. Inside we will see the famous Pietà by Michelangelo.

What can I say about our private, 9 hour Vatican City/Sistine Chapel/St. Peter’s Basilica tour with the wonderful and knowledgable Martina. My wife and I booked our visit through Viator. We met her outside the Vatican’s white marble front gate and although Rome, to newbies like us seemed very chaotic, she was a calming and reassuring presence. She explained everything ahead of time. What we would see. How much walking and stairs are involved. When we could find time to rest, eat, and most importantly, find a restroom. Her knowledge of the all we saw was insightful and well presented. I am an artist with an art history minor and a Christian so I am very familiar with Western history as it relates to the Catholic Church and the historical significance of Ancient Rome to the Renascence. She gave detailed accounts of paintings, sculptures, tapestries, and buildings. She was such a joy to spend the day with, we asked her to dine and take photos with us.Tri_P
