Overview
Your guide will meet you at the tourist office, to kick off your visit with a panoramic tour around Toledo, stopping at the Mirador del Valle viewpoint, before moving on to the guided walking tour. After the tour, and depending on the option you choose, your will be taken back to your hotel in Madrid, or if you prefer, you will have 3 hours of free time to have lunch, walk around on your own, or go shopping in Toledo, before returning to Madrid. The 3-hour guided tour is a walk through the Christian, Jewish and Muslim quarters, visiting the main monuments, such as the cathedral, the mosque or the synagogues, as well as underground archaeological remains.

We will start the guided tour with the panoramic view of Toledo from the viewpoint of El Valle, considered one of the most impressive views in the world, where you will have time to take pictures or just enjoy the unforgettable views.

Stop At: Casco Historico de Toledo, Toledo Spain
Toledo is one of the oldest and most beautifully preserved cities in Spain, home to monuments, museums and works of art that span millennia – from Roman ruins to spectacular Gothic cathedrals, mosques and synagogues, as well as narrow cobbled streets and romantic squares.
Our guided tour is a walk through the Christian, Jewish and Muslim quarters, with stops at the Alcázar, the mosque, the synagogues and the 13th-century cathedral.
We will also explore the fantastic work of El Greco, complete with a visit to his masterpiece, The Burial of the Count of Orgaz, at the Church of Santo Tomé. The tour is rounded out with a visit to exclusive underground spaces and archaeological ruins, including 13th- century wells, Roman thermal baths, and many more magical places.

We did a day tour of Toledo. Our driver, Mark, picked us up at our hotel in Madrid and drove us to Toledo where we met our guide, Diego. We had 5 hours of guided tour and an hour for lunch. It was a fascinating day. Toledo is really a can’t miss stop in Spain, we’re so glad we decided to go there...

It was a fascinating day. Toledo is really a can’t miss stop in Spain, we’re so glad we decided to go there. Diego was an excellent guide. He knows his city incredibly well and obviously loves it. He had so many stories about the art, the history, and the lore of Toledo. At the end, Mark met us and drove us back. He was a very good driver, and the ride was comfortable. A great day.George_C

The El Greco masterpiece in the smaller cathedral is not to be missed. It is considered the artist's best work and is stunning and was well described by our guide. The main cathedral is also extremely interesting. Toledo is considered a 'monument' city and our (2 couples) guide there, Diego, was extremely knowledgeable, articulate, was easy to hear, and knew his way around each place we visited as in where to stand for the best view or to see something of extreme interest, where to have lunch, which was quite good, and we were sorry to part ways with him at the end of the tour. The driver, Angel, was on time for the hotel pickup and was very professional with his driving for the 50 minute trip from the Westin Palace Hotel in Madrid to Toledo. The tour in Toledo started with an overview very scenic drive along the cliffs above the river with two magnificent view photo stops of the entire area and the bridges. We would definitely do this tour again if in the area.KMestre

Our tour to a Toledo was the highlight of our trip in Madrid. Our tour guide Valle was sweet, extremely passionate about the history of Toledo and was very patient with my family as we had two very busy kids (6 and 2). Our driver was really pleasant as well! He was punctual from our pick up at The Edition in Madrid, gave us a preview of Toledo and mini city tour of Madrid. Our tour was a total of 8 hours with 2 hours being spent in the van ( one hour each way), 3 hour guided tour and 3 hours on our own and it was perfect! The three hours with Valle flew by! The Cathedral was absolutely stunning and being one of the oldest cities in Spain it is enthroned in its history! At the conclusion of our tour we had to eat lunch at La Cave (you MUST make reservations a couple days in advance otherwise you won’t have a place to eat!), and did some shopping in Plaza Zocodover. Some great local buys are their famous turrones and knives! We would definitely recommend Destino Toledo to our family and friends and would use them in the future!Exploration430571

Perfect one day trip from Madrid. Our party of six was picked up promptly by our driver Jose and taken to Toledo in a terrific, clean Mercedes mini-van. We were met in Toledo by our tour guide, Sonia, who was fantastic. She had mapped out a full day of sites, shopping, eating and even knew which places had the best bathrooms. Sonia's knowledge about Toledo was deep and her command of English was very impressive. Sonia was friendly, open and had a great sense of humor. We all felt like we made a new friend.
