Itinerary

Stop At: Caldera de Bandama, 35300 Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Gran Canaria Spain
Your guide will pick you up at Cruise Ship Port or at your hotel in Las Palmas.
You will go to the Bandama volcanoes area, walk about 1 hour, and reach the bottom of the crater. Last active volcano of the island and the first place where vines are planted in Gran Canaria for winemaking.
The Bandama Natural Monument is part of the Tafira Protected Landscape on the island of Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands, Spain. It's considered a point of geological interest, because of the Caldera de Bandama. This volcanic crater, which is geologically a maar rather than a caldera, reaches 569 m (1, 867 ft) above sea level at the highest point on its rim, Pico de Bandama, and is about 1, 000 m (3, 300 ft) wide and 200 m (700 ft) deep. The bottom of the caldera contains volcanic ash of different colors and some botanic species of Canary Islands origin. The Caldera de Bandama is located at the meeting point of three municipalities: Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Santa Brígida and Telde.
Duration: 2 minutes
Stop At: Mirador Pico de Bandama, 35003 Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Gran Canaria Spain
Admire the nature hidden inside the volcanic crater.
This peak has an observation platform from where – despite its relatively low height – you can enjoy breathtaking views of the entire north and east coast and the mountainous center in the west. With a clear sky, you might even get to see the neighboring island Fuerteventura in the northeast.
Duration: 2 hours
Stop At: Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Gran Canaria, Canary Islands
Back to the starting point, you and your guide will go to an ecologic vineyard plantation, in the middle of the recent volcanic materials where you will taste some local wine and tapas.
After wine and tapas tasting your guide will take you back to Las Palmas.
Duration: 1 hour

This was the highlight of our trip. Despite it being an unexpected heat wave Lucas knowledge of the island his amazing recounts of gran Canarian history and his awful jokes were a winning combination. Such a fantastic experience. Would highly recommend.
