Overview

Spend a day visiting Volterra with its splendid Roman Theater and the "Beautiful Towers" of San Gimignano. A trip from the Etruscan period to the Renaissance. A wonderful experience among wine, local food, vineyards, olive trees and rows of cypresses in the most genuine Tuscany.
Itinerary:
• Meet your driver at your location
• 1st stop in Volterra, one of the most beautiful viewpoints in Tuscany, visit of the Historic City and the Roman Theatre.
• For lunch we will move to a Tuscan farm, to understand the secrets of wine production and enjoy a tuscan lunch with 5 wine tastings
• After lunch, we will drive through the rolling hills of Chianti, among olive groves, cypresses and vineyards to the medieval town of San Gimignano
• We will visit the magnificent Towers of the city and discover the legend of the Black Rooster. In the main square you will taste the best ice cream in the world (Gelateria Dondoli)
• The return is expected around 17:00

Stop At: Volterra, Volterra, Province of Pisa, Tuscany

Our Driver will pick you up at your location (Hotel, B&B or private flat) and will take you to discover the rooling hills of Tuscany. We will drive through the Tuscan countryside, among olive trees, vineyards and sunflowers. The first stop will be in Volterra for a free visit. Volterra is a beautiful walled city in Tuscany, built on the top of a hill. The town is built over one of the Twelve Cities of the ancient Etruscan civilisation and has some of the original gates from that era still standing along with a dedicated museum packed with Etruscan and Roman relics. The most interesting things to visit are: The ancient Roman theater The octagonal Baptistery and the Duomo The “Palazzo dei Priori” in the main square. The Etruscan arch of the 4th century BC Volterra is also known for its alabaster and salt quarries.

Stop At: Podere La Marronaia- Le Colonne Biodynamic Winery & Farm, Via Martiri di Citerna 2 Colonne, 53037, San Gimignano Italy

For lunch we will move to a typical tuscan farm: Visit, Lunch and Wine tastings. A beautiful Italian experience to learn the best combinations beetween wine, food and the secrets of Italian cuisine, Tuscan wine-making techniques and more." Wine tasting and Lunch in the farm”: • Tuscan lunch: Bruschettas, home made pasta, cold cuts, Salame, Prosciutto, Pecorino cheese and more... • Wine tastings (Chianti, Chianti, Chianti Riseva, Vernaccia and Super tuscan). Also Tasting of: Extra Olive, Oil tasting Pepper Olive Oil tasting, Balsamic Vinegar tasting, Truffle Oilive Oil tasting.

After the visit to the farm, we will drive through one of the famous "Chianti wine road" and the sweet Chianti hills, amidst olive-groves, cypress trees and vineyards up to the Medieval town of San Gimignano.

Stop At: San Gimignano, San Gimignano, Tuscany

Last stop at San Gimignano: The visit of the town and its magnificent towers will take about an hour. San Gimignano is a small walled medieval hill town not far from Siena. Known as the “Town of Fine Towers”, during the Middle Ages there were more than 70 towers in the city. Now it is a real open-air museum, where it seems to walk in the medieval period. The town also is known for saffron, the Golden Ham, and its white wine, Vernaccia di San Gimignano, produced from the ancient variety of Vernaccia grape which is grown on the sandstone hillsides of the area. In the main square don't forget to taste the best 'ice cream in the world'(Gelateria Dondoli), and in the streets of the village you can admire the extraordinary work of expert craftsmen.
At the end of the visit we will come back to your location (Hotel, B&B or private flat).
