Stop At: Flysch ibilbidearen hasiera, Itsaspe Auz., 32, 20829 Deba, Gipuzkoa, Spain
Start the tour with a morning walk along the Flysch coastal cliffs in Zumaia: The rock formations found here a natural piece of art of infinite geological and esthetic value. An ‘open book’ that shows us earth’s history throughout the last 60 million years! They were part of Game of Thrones scenery too.

Stop At: Getaria, Getaria, Province of Guipuzcoa, Basque Country
Visit the cobbled streets and the harbor of this picturesque fishing village, home to txakoli (Basque White Wine) and to the best fresh grilled fish in Spain. Birthplace of Juan Sebastian Elcano (first man to circumnavigate the world) and Cristóbal Balenciaga (the most renowned ‘haute couture’ Spanish fashion designer of all time).

Stop At: Txakoli Elkano, Eitzaga Auzoa 24, 20808 Getaria Spain
Overlooking the fishing village of Getaria and the Atlantic Ocean, you will learn about the wine making process of Txakoli, from grape aging to bottling. Spoil your senses by tasting the different types of Txakoli in the winery along with the delicious and popular Anchovies of Getaria. Take a walk through the vineyard and meet the winery’s family in a relaxed and intimate atmosphere.

- The pick up will be in San Sebastian and the drop off too. There is 1 hour and 30 minutes travelling time aproximately, including coastal roads that combine beautiful vineyard and ocean views.

This was an exceptional wine tour and was only made possible by Alvaro. He is extremely friendly, considerate, personable, punctual and very accommodating. The wines we sampled were all excellent and we had the opportunity to learn a lot about the wineries and area. Additionally, we made a few stops en route to the vineyard that were all excellent that gave us a chance to explore more of the Basque Country. Additionally, Alvaro made arrangements for us at a local grilled fish restaurant that was amazing; it was an amazing day of food and wine and great company! Alvaro is a local that shares the best parts of Basque Country with you, do not miss out on this opportunity!Seeing the Basque coast and Txakolin wineries with Alvaro was the high light of our stay in San Sebastián. I wish we had spent every morning on one of his tours. I can’t recommend this experience enough!
