From the moment our driver, Jovani, picked us up from our cruise ship port, we knew this was the BEST way to see the wonderful city of Rome. Our trip was personalized to what we wanted to see and spend time at. I would highly recommend using Rome in Limo for your day excursion. The cost is a little bit more but WELL WORTH the price for a private tour (instead of being with a group of 30+). We asked for an authentic Italian lunch, gelato on the way home and a stop along the beach - you would not get that in a ship excursion!!! Will definitely use this service the next time. The best part - is they are in other cities (ports)!!!Right from the start, I could tell this was going to be a great day. Our driver, Pietro, was early. I like that, a lot. Right from the start, I could tell this was going to be a great day. Our driver, Pietro, was early. I like that, a lot. He met us at the Civitavecchia port. His Mercedes van was clean and had waters for us. During our 1 hour+ ride to Rome, he pointed out various things as we drove to pick up our tour guide. Our tour guide, Valerio, was waiting at the designated spot, and after introductions, he asked us about our goals for the day. We told him that we are leaving the day in his hands and that we would see anything he thought was worth visiting. Beginning at the Forum, he pointed out how it was used then and today, along with other nuggets of information. Where just speaking to a topic wasn't sufficient, he had an Ipad with visuals to supplement. Since he is a historian, and not just a tour guide, we found him to be highly knowledgeable. I think to main thing that made this very expensive tour worth the money, is how Valerio navigated us through the Sistine Chapel. He knew exactly where to go to get us quickly in to see the sights and not waste time in lines. ( We bought skip the line tickets prior to departing from home. Guides get in free, so no ticket is needed for them) The other great thing, was that Valerio offered to take photos of us at each of the stops along the way, like Trevi Fountain and the Coliseum. Winding our way through the narrow streets of Rome, it was a bonus to be in a smaller vehicle as opposed to the giant tour busses that are used from the cruise ships. It allowed us to get closer to our destinations to be dropped off and for Pietro to pick us up. All in all, it was a great day and totally worth the money. With tip and fees, it was about 1000 euros including Valerio joining us for lunch. We chose this private tour rather than the cruise ship tour. We were able to see many of Rome’s highlights in a day. Tour guide, Giovanni was awesome, provided personalized service, and great history lessons throughout the day. Thanks——Terry and Emily.

On our recent Mediterranean cruise, our family had the pleasure of dealing with Enrico and Rome in Limo. From the very prompt and clear communications with Jany, to the clean and comfortable ride to our guide Enrico, our day couldn't have been any better. We were met directly upon disembarking the ship and quickly whisked away to the city. Although Rome in Limo is clear on their website that you are hiring a driver and not a professional guide, I'm unsure how a professional guide could have added any additional color. Enrico was a wealth of history and knowledge and is clearly passionate about his culture. He took us to all the highlights as well as many off the beaten track gems. He provided tips as to how to bypass the huge lines at the Colosseum to minimize our waiting time and was always available via a quick text. For lunch, he provided a couple of options/recommendations and we ended up at a beautiful "non touristy" Ristorante called il Corallo. After a beautiful lunch, we were off for more stops before a timely return to port at the end of the day. If you only have a short time to visit Rome do not hesitate on booking Rome in Limo as both their service and value simply can not be beat. Thanks for a perfect day in Rome!Wow....what a day!!! Wow....what a day!!! Our fabulous driver Nic managed to show up parts of Rome we hadn't seen before from pick up to drop off. Nic was very knowledgeable about all the places we visited...the usual Colosseum Pantheon, Spanish Steps, Trevvi Fountain, Capital Building, ruins of old Rome, St Peter Basilica and the jewel of the day the 'Keyhole' which was simply stunning. We had lunch ar a beautiful restaurant just outside of the Vatican City. Having done previous trips to Rome via bus & train never again this is definately the way to go 😊
