Stop At: Catacombe San Sebastiano, Via Appia Antica 136, 00179 Rome Italy
Along the Via Appia, in a natural depression in the ground that housed a pagan necropolis, a Christian cemetery developed from the mid-third century AD. From 258 AD, as witnessed by the creation of a courtyard and a sacred shrine, liturgies were held in honour of the apostles Peter and Paul; the invocations of the faithful scratched on the walls can still be seen. At the remembrance of Peter and Paul, at slightly later time, the burial of the body of St. Sebastian, martyred during the persecutions of the third century, is recalled. Above the place of worship, Constantine (306-337) built a basilica dedicated to the Apostles, which later became the Basilica of San Sebastiano fuori le mura.

Excellent service! I have to commend our driver Gary, we were in Rome on Sept 27th, a demonstration was taking place, it was a nightmare trying to get around to the sights we wanted to see. Gary knows the city inside out, he made alternate plans in case we were not able to see everything, but in the end he gave us our planned tour and more. We visited the Coliseum, Trevi Fountain, the Vatican, at every sight he would give us the history. Very knowledgeable and professional. Can't say enough about our experience with this company. Pickup and drop off in a timely manner. Great job, Rome in Limo! Thank you Gary for making our day unforgettable!!When we got off the ship, Luigi was at the end of the gangway waiting for us. We spent some time at the Colosseum, before he took us for a view of the Vatican, through a garden. He was there to answer any questions, and was very consensus of the time due to the two hour ride back to the ship. Thank you so much for making this the best day of the cruise. We look forward to coming back and having Luigi take us around again. We were aboard the Viking Star and used Rome in Limo for a trip into Rome and the Vatican. It was outstanding. We had the best day and are so glad we chose to go with Rome in Limo. Piero was our driver, and he was truly a delight. He was waiting for us right outside our ship in Civitavecchia, promptly on time, and throughout the day he was helpful and efficient. There are so many places and streets in Rome where only certain vehicles can go, and Piero knew exactly where to go and how to get us there quickly. He made suggestions along the way that helped us structure our day, and was truly flexible when we wanted to make changes. He got us back with plenty of time. Piero was more than just our driver, he really was our guide through Rome as well. He got us into a Catacombs tour quickly, made lunch recommendations, and was able to let us stop for souvenirs as well. We also used the services of Francesca as our private guide at the Colosseum and Forum. She was excellent, engaging our children and explaining how to imagine things in ancient times and how sites are being restored now. We couldn't have had a better day with Rome in Limo. Our kids had a blast and we can't wait to return to Rome one day.Nous sommes restés à la ville de Civitavecchia Visite balade des petites ruelles pour un beau dimanche de septembre j’ai aimé
