Pisa is a city and comune in Tuscany, central Italy, straddling the Arno just before it empties into the Ligurian Sea. It is the capital city of the Province of Pisa. Although Pisa is known worldwide for its leaning tower (the bell tower of the city's cathedral), the city of over 91, 104 residents (around 200, 000 with the metropolitan area) contains more than 20 other historic churches, several medieval palaces, and various bridges across the Arno. Much of the city's architecture was financed from its history as one of the Italian maritime republics.

Stop At: Leaning Tower of Pisa, Piazza del Duomo Piazza dei Miracoli, 56126, Pisa Italy
Leaning Tower of Pisa, Italian Torre Pendente di Pisa, medieval structure in Pisa, Italy, that is famous for the settling of its foundations, which caused it to lean 5.5 degrees (about 15 feet [4.5 metres]) from the perpendicular in the late 20th century. Extensive work was subsequently done to straighten the tower, and its lean was ultimately reduced to less than 4.0 degrees.

Pass By: San Gimignano, San Gimignano, Tuscany
San Gimignano, a small walled village about halfway between Florence and Siena, is famous for its fascinating medieval architecture and towers that rise above of all the other buildings offering an impressive view of the city from the surrounding valley.
At the height of its glory, San Gimignano's patrician families had built around 72 tower-houses as symbols of their wealth and power. Although only 14 have survived, San Gimignano still retains its feudal atmosphere and appearance.
Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1990, San Gimignano offers visitors the chance to step back in time while enjoying its local products including saffron and its white wine, the Vernaccia di San Gimignano.
Pass By: San Gimignano Bell Tower, Piazza del Duomo, 53037, San Gimignano Italy
Must-sees during your visit to San Gimignano are the Palazzo Comunale, Pinacoteca and Torre Grossa, the tallest tower in the city from which you can enjoy a unique 360° view over all of San Gimignano. If you have time, also visit the Archeological Museum where the second floor houses the Modern and Contemporary Art Gallery, a mix of the ancient past and more relatively recent past.

We spent an incredible day seeing the off the beaten track places in Tuscany. Absolutely the best tour I could have imagined. Stopped along the way at a small, independent farm where we were shown how they made olive oil of all kinds was one of the highlights. Visited the beautiful Etruscan town of Volterra, another hidden gem. And finally spent the afternoon at a small winery in Bolgheri where we enjoyed a very nice lunch and tasting samples of their wines. Our guide was simply the best.We just returned from a Mediterranean cruise and used Rome In Limo for all four of our Italian ports. All I can say is WOW! We just returned from a Mediterranean cruise and used Rome In Limo for all four of our Italian ports. All I can say is WOW! What a great time we had thanks to all four of our fantastic drivers (Peter (Rome), Luca (Sicily), Enrique (Naples), and Rapheli (Livorno). Each driver was on time and extremely professional. Each reviewed our itinerary, prioritized what we wanted to see, was accommodating to our requests and even had to make on the fly adjustments based on traffic. We felt like we had full concierge service! Each driver had great knowledge of the area we were touring and provided extremely helpful hints for its city/attraction to make our time more efficient. Recommendations for restaurants for lunch were provided, one more delicious than the next, and reasonably priced. It was amazing that we were able to do and see things that the traditional tour buses just couldn't do for us. Being a group of four we were able to have lunch in small intimate restaurants rather than buffet meals that require a large space for the big tours. We were able to drive in the opposite direction than the tour buses in Amalfi - which saved us a ton of time because traffic going in the opposite direction. We were also able to drive in the city center and closer to the attractions than the big tour buses. For instance, we were dropped off steps from the leaning tower in Pisa - rather than the fifteen-minute walk from the tour bus assigned parking area. Since we were able to customize our itinerary, we will definitely use Rome In Limo again when visiting Italy. The drivers were mindful of our on-board time and we were dropped off within a comfortable time to spare. Thank you Rome-In-Limo for making our trip of a lifetime so special. This tour was customized a bit by the other members on cruise critic, and we joined up and are so glad we did. This tour was customized a bit by the other members on cruise critic, and we joined up and are so glad we did. Us and two other couples spent the morning in Florence, seeing the main highlights. Then we went for a wine tasting in the Tuscan countryside, and then we spent some time in San Gimignano before heading back to the ship. It made such an impression, we are already talking about going back to Tuscany for a week or two to see and do more. Our driver did an excellent job of keeping us on schedule so we could see everything we wanted to see. He was very knowledgeable and friendly and managed somehow to fit everything in to our day despite large driving distances. The wine tasting which included lunch was an absolute highlight. It was a small extra fee but very much worth it. Also, we can’t imagine missing San Gimignano, which was absolutely lovely, to go to somewhere like Pisa like most of the bigger cruise ship tours do. All in all, we probably spent similar or just slightly more money than if we’d booked direct through the ship. Our experience was 1000 times better, I have no doubt. Would book again with this company in a heartbeat.Just like 4 years ago, they do not disappoint! Just like 4 years ago, they do not disappoint! This trip, we had 12 of us (celebrating high school and college graduations)l, so we needed two vans but we stayed together, and so it felt like we were always in one! Laura as our guide in Van 1 was amazing. Her knowledge is incredible, and her spirit and personality made our day so very enjoyable. The guys rode with Francesco, and he was equally amazing! I can't stress enough how great this company is. We have used them several times, and will continue to use them on our trips back.I highly recommend Rome In Limo!!! I highly recommend Rome In Limo!!! From my first contact with Jany, she was SUPER helpful! She always responded in a very timely manner to my numerous questions! So helpful and polite and professional! It was so great to have our drivers pick us up at the cruise ports in their clean and comfortable vans! It was wonderful to have just our family in the tour! And we always made it back to the ship in plenty of time at the end of the day! On May 22, 2023, We did the Pisa and Lucca Tour! Vinny was our driver! He had cold water bottles for us in our van! He was so friendly and very knowledgeable about the area! We really enjoyed our day and it was wonderful to not worry about traffic or directions. All in All, I can't say enough good things about Rome in Limo! I would absolutely use them again in the future!
