Private Sake Tasting with an Expert, in English at Tsukiji Tokyo
Overview
Sake is a traditional Japanese drink that has been registered as a UNESCO Heritage Site, but it is difficult to understand due to many technical terms such as "Junmai", "Nigorishu", and "Ginjo". Sake experts will give a presentation and tasting session at Tsukiji Outside Market, the heart of Tokyo, so that everyone can increase their knowledge of sake. You will have the opportunity to taste three different types of sake carefully selected from all over Japan, with detailed instructions on how to drink them and traditional Japanese dry snacks that are perfect for pairing with sake. This is a fun and casual event with experts! The meeting will last approximately 50 minutes!
Applications must be from a minimum of two people.
Inclusions
- Alcoholic Beverages - We will serve 3 selected sake for tasting.
- Snacks - Some authentic Japanese snacks.
What to expect
We have carefully selected three different types of cold authentic sake from all over Japan so that you can learn and enjoy the differences between them with sake experts in the session, in English.
①Aromatic Junmai DaiGinjo Sake
②Dry sake with a crisp dry taste
③Nigori-shu (muddy sake), which has a mild sweetness and umami flavor.
You will also enjoy traditional and unique dry snacks that we Japanese enjoy every day, which are indispensable for sake tasting and go perfectly with the snacks.
In addition to explaining the tasting, an expert will also give a presentation and a session on the basics of sake in English, so if you are not familiar with sake but are interested in learning more, please join us.

I had never had sake before so I experienced this tasting session. My impression is that sake is quite sweet. The ladies liked the strong alcoholic type because it was not sweet. The venue is inside a building, so there is no seafood market atmosphere. Their sake expert and staffs were cheerful and funny, and I was glad that they also gave us a free Japanese cup as a souvenir. The host knows very well about sake and sake culture. He is not only explaining about it very well, but also good at enjoying communicating with us (guests) and tries his best to answer our questions. The activity atmosphere is casual and much fun. I definitely recommend this activity for everyone.

We joined the tour during our visit to Tsukiji Market. Tokyo is very hot, so I was first of all very happy that the venue was well air-conditioned lol The sake sommelier was very friendly and explained everything in a friendly manner, so we were able to relax and enjoy the tour. I still need more experience, but the sake we tasted was very good. It was a little difficult to find the entrance to the venue, so it would be better to go a little early. I think it is good to enjoy sake after eating seafood at Tsukiji Market.I'm a Japanese dude hanging out in Singapore, and man, I dig sake. Wanted to get the lowdown on all the different types. I'm a Japanese dude hanging out in Singapore, and man, I dig sake. Wanted to get the lowdown on all the different types. So back in April, when I hit up Japan, I booked this spot on a whim. The owner there was totally on point & learned heaps from him. Let me tell you all, sake ain't no basic brew, the more you learn, the more it blows your mind. Drink up!!誘われて友達と参加しましたが楽しかったです。酒も三種類飲めたので、日本酒について話を聞きながら飲みたいと言う方でも英語がわかれば良いと思います。マスターが楽しく説明してくれていました。
