Stop At: River Ventures, 498 SE Kings Bay Drive, Crystal River, FL 34429
After checking in at the tour center you will watch a brief video about the manatees, go over the rules of swimming and how to interact in a manner that is fun for both you and the manatees. You are then fitted for a wetsuit to prepare you for your snorkeling adventure. Your guides will photograph the highlights of your entire manatee swim tour from start to finish, both above and below the water. Upon returning to the tour center, a high-resolution picture CD containing images from your manatee tour will be available for you to purchase if desired.

What a fun and memorable experience! We (a couple in our 30s) came in early-May and knew that this was outside the peak manatee season, but it was a blessing in disguise as we got plenty of one-on-one manatee time - but without the crowds. We also had time to see the Crystal Springs and had it, essentially, to ourselves (definitely recommend the 6:30am start if you want to avoid other parties.) And above all, everyone at River Ventures was just so darn nice! Ryan was our guide and Troy our captain and they just seemed like genuine and wonderful people - kind, patient, funny. Plus the office staff, Juno and another young lady (whom I didn't catch her name), were super pleasant. Overall, we had a great time and would recommend this excursion (& River Ventures) to anyone heading to Florida.Today was magical on our swimming with manatee adventure with Shana and Shelly! Today was magical on our swimming with manatee adventure with Shana and Shelly! They were so knowledgeable about the river and respected the area where the manatees were which made it feel like they loved their job taking us out for our experience. They searched for manatees high and low for us to swim with and guided us each moment on how to respect and love the manatees the same as they did. Taking us along the river and offering hot chocolate as we explored in and out of the water was so fun for the kids. And to have the patience with us and take our time as we swam the springs and listened to their own stories made it so welcoming. I can’t put into words what I felt as I weeped tears of joy after swimming with the manatees on the boat. I have fulfilled a life long dream today and it was perfect. Thank you both so much for sharing your love of the manatees with us.I've done it not the first time...but yesterday it was the best tour ever.....were with Captain Troy and Guide Dave.....were together with 5 Manatees for a long time....fantastic.....we had so much fun on the boat.....we will come back next year....same boat...same Captain and Guide....it was fan...
