What to expect
The greatest time to see the Northern Lights is between October and April. You need fair skies, pitch black nights and some luck to see the dancing lights in the sky. To make the entire experience extraordinary we will take you a traditional Finnish sauna on a private Arctic lake. Let's make this an adventure of a lifetime!
The Northern Lights hunting is one of the most popular things to do in Finland. Seeing flickering shades of blue, green, violet and sometimes even crimson red is one of the most epic adventures you can have. Aurora sights are never guaranteed, as nature is unpredictable. So, that makes this experience even more special. The thrill of the chase, an amazing sauna experience and a traditional dinner in a wooden cottage by the private icy lake are what we call the Best of Lapland.
While we wait for the lights we will prepare the sauna. Once the sauna is all set up it's your time to relax. Let the heat purify your body as the mellow wintery magic of Lapland purifies your soul. Let go of the stress and enjoy the presence of your loved ones. While we do our best to prepare you for an evening in the wilderness, it's up to you decide how you want to spend your time. The classic Nordic way is to spend 10-15 minutes in the sauna and then jump into ice cold water, or even a big pile of crystal white snow! A cold plunge after a steamy session increases your blood flow, relieves pressure and boosts up your endorphin levels!
After this unique Finnish spa experience, it's time to get back to our little cozy wooden cottage to enjoy Blazed salmon dinner by a fireplace.

Vi var to personer. Vi blev hentet ved vores hotel. Vi havde valgt eftermiddagsturen. Det var fantastisk. Flot lav vintersol, lod os nyde de smukke omgivelser ved søen fuldt ud. Minus 6 grader og en fint, tynd lag af ny sne overalt. Saunaen var klar da vi ankom, og efter en hurtig og dækkende introduktion til saunaen og faciliteterne, kunne vi bare nyde skønheden og freden uden forstyrrelser. Et par timer senere klædte vi om og gik op til hytten, hvor vores fantastiske værter havde dækket op med en dejlig middag. Der sad vi og nød maden, den knitrende ild fra pejsen og den smukke udsigt ud over søen. Værterne var utrolig søde og man følte sig velkommen på alle måder.Es war ein toller Abend. Loved the experience! In a small group we could really enjoy relaxing evening in sauna and even jump to the lake - appreciated a lot this private atmosphere. Dinner was absolutely delicious (grilled salmon, veggies very tasty homemade sauce, cookies and of course glogi!), the table was set really nice and we all within a group had lovely chat though we just met one another. Big thanks to Pedro for driving us there and back and telling interesting stories about finnish and reindeers' lifestyle - and Tanja for hosting us and letting us feel like at home. Small note - as there is traditional finnish sauna, there is no shower. but the lake is just nearby for refreshment :)It was a great experience for me and my friends. Alex and his wife were extremely helpful and kind. After the sauna, we had a chance to hear some facts and stories about Finland and their neighbourhood. I definitely recommend for everyone to have such experience with such great people!

We enjoyed with Alex’s family. Alex’s wife was so nice like his husband. They cooked amazing Lappish meal for me. The sauna was so great, I’ve never had such a great experience before.
