The fascination and the pearl of mountainous Armenia is Sevan Lake, which is one of the world's greatest high altitude fresh-water lakes. It is about 1900 m above sea level. The lake is of volcanic origin and is surrounded with mountains of 3000 m and higer. The beautiful landscape and the crystal water serve nice preconditions for excellent rest.The lake is also famous for its peninsula and medieval church complex built in 874.

Stop At: Monastery Sevanavank, next the Holy Mother of God Church, Sevan Armenia
A marvelous scene opens in the north-western part of Sevan Lake, where the peninsula towers over the transparent surface of the lake. Sevanavank monastery was built on the peninsula in 874 by the order of king Ashot Bagratuni's daughter princess Mariam. The silhouette of the churches against the background of the turquoise lake and blue sky casts unexplainable impression on the visitors.

Арендовали микроавтобус с водителем и поехали на озеро Севан. Зимой там очень холодно, однако за пейзаж, открывающийся с высоты (из монастыря Севанванк) стоит таки съездить туда! Мы очень благодарны нашему водителю, который на обратной дороге остановился в одном из ресторанчиков, чтобы мы вкусно:) перекусили. А микроавтобус - марки Мерседес, был удобным, работал идеально, благодаря чему мы не простудились, хотя все шло к этому). По прибытию на место Араик предложил зонты и куртки, т.к. погода ухудшалась, что нам очень помогло не промокнуть. Дал свой номер на случай если возникнут вопросы или ситуации. By the time we were making decision we did not had option to join a group, so we went for private tour and it was absolutely best choice. Pick up was in our hotel / drop off we could chose, stops to take some photos is just a matter of asking and last, but not least our guide Sam made this experience fun and entertaining sharing information about sites and through out the rote along with interesting facts on Armenia.I had a great experience in Armenia taking the tour with Michael my driver and Hamaspyur my bilingual guide. Hamspyur went out of her way to please me and give me a comprehensive tour of lake Sevan and the Sevanavank with detailed history of each monument and church. She was passionate and so kno...
I had a great experience in Armenia taking the tour with Michael my driver and Hamaspyur my bilingual guide. Hamspyur went out of her way to please me and give me a comprehensive tour of lake Sevan and the Sevanavank with detailed history of each monument and church. She was passionate and so knowledgable. She had a very pleasant personality and on my next trip I will ask for her if she will be available. Same with the driver , nice car and no problems except a little bit of traffic on our way back from Dilijan. I am very happy that I got to take the Huyr service for my last day in Yerevan. I am highly recommending this company.
