I have been birding since I was 11 years old. So I think of myself as experienced. Yet when in Costa Rica, with 933 new species possible, and dense vegetation and steep slopes, knowing where to look and what to look for can be daunting. Of course I will never forget that amazing Resplendent Quetz...
I have been birding since I was 11 years old. So I think of myself as experienced. Yet when in Costa Rica, with 933 new species possible, and dense vegetation and steep slopes, knowing where to look and what to look for can be daunting. Of course I will never forget that amazing Resplendent Quetzal feeding it's mate and young at the nest that Robert helped me find. Robert's vast naturalist's knowledge alone made this trip well-worth it for me, but combined with a native's intimate understanding of how to navigate the Costa Rican restaurant and hotel offerings, and with his genuine friendly and careful personality made this entire birding trip unforgettable. With all of the teens along with me, this allowed me to relax and trust that he would take care of us. Still trying to figure out how to get back down there for a repeat!
