It contains tombs perfectly well preserved dating back 4200 years . The most recent find in 2020 was a mummy of a woman with a solid gold mask , gaming pieces to an ancient game , and a soldier buried with a metal axe in his hand . A wonderful day spent in the superb and amazingly knowledgeable hands of our guide Gouda. He kept us so well informed and his guiding hand, especially for my elderly mother, was very supportive. We had a fantastic Xmas day visiting all the sites, riding camels, and trying to find something that Gouda did not know but failed. Gouda was able to get us through all the queues quickly and access some great views which was restricted. Would certainly recommend him again.Amazing day in Cairo! Intense visiting but 100% worth it with a very knowledgeable guide who taught me a lot about ancient Egypt history. Big thanks as well to the driver for taking us around 😊
