Peter picked us up on time at our rental place. Faced traffic snafus, closures, etc but he got us everywhere we used the time to learn lots about Slovakia. Clean comfortable car, excellent English speaker, and all you could ask for in a guide. Attended the mine tour--given only in Slovak language so you need to bring a guide to translate if you chose it. Beautiful setting, but wear shoes that can get muddy and wet as mine has ample water flowing in it! Then to brew pub for a upscale, traditional lunch, walk about the town, hike up to Calvary (THE BEST PART BY FAR) and home. Literally gone 12 hours because of the traffic issues--but Peter was great the whole way.

Amazing trip and totally worth it. The city is situated in a beautiful lush mountainous area which has historical importance due to all the mining activities that used to go on there and it's different from the other parts of Slovakia I visited. I had an excellent guide who was generous with his time and made sure I made the most of my experience. If you have time include a visit to a mine there are daily tours and have a meal at the ERB Brewery situated close to the city centre which serves excellent food and beer.
