We had an excellent private tour of key D-Day sites, concluding at the American cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer. Unfortunately, I have forgotten our tour guide’s name. She was lovely and very knowledgeable. Our tour occurred on Monday, June 27th (it was meant to be on Saturday, June 25th, but our guide contracted COVID). So if the tour company operator sees this, we’d like to thank our guide for a very enjoyable tour. We highly recommend this tour, which provided us with a comprehensive view of key locations connected with Operation Overlord.I can't emphasize how amazing our guide was, Francois Gauthron. Our day in Normandy was a highlight of the trip. Adrian exceeded our expectations in every way imaginable, helping navigate a budding historian teenager, a tired little sister, mom in a wheelchair and grandma. The best part was he answered questions, rapid fire, for 8 hours from one very passionate 13 year old. Everything about the day was perfect: we saw it all, he was early, lunch was fantastic and we learned so much in one day. Perfect day to learn and pay respects for all that happened. What an amazing experience! This trip to Normandy was a “bucket list” trip for me and my brother. Adrien was the best guide. He was so knowledgeable, and really made the trip come to life. I cannot stop talking about it. If you go to Normandy, get a guide! He not only was familiar with all that we saw, but also tips for the area, and what we could do later on our trip. My knowledge and appreciation for the men and women who sacrificed so much will not be forgotten.
