My husband and I had an amazing day trip to Kyoto thanks to Kou! He met us on the station platform around 9am at Kyoto station and we visited the following places: Komyo-in temple- local Buddhist, Sanjusangen-do (1000 Kanin statues), kimono rental shop near kiyomizudera and walked the streets in the area, local sushi restaurant, thousand stone buddhas, arashiyama monkey park, kinkakuji, and finally Nishiki market. The lunch was absolutely delicious and the staff were also so kind!! He is really friendly and knowledgeable about each attraction so you can ask him questions about anything at any time. The entire trip was really convenient because he gave great recommendations, drove us to each destination to minimize walking, took amazing photos of us, and organized our itinerary to get the most out of our day. This was not our first time in Kyoto but Kou was able to show us hidden gems in the city to make it truly an unforgettable experience! Our day ended around 5pm and we were dropped off at Kyoto station. 10000% worth booking because Kyoto can be quite inconvenient to tour exclusively via public transit as the stations are very far apart and the attractions can be quite far from each other and from the station. Highly recommend this to anyone looking to get the most out of their stay in Kyoto!!!!!!!!!!!! Kosuke asked me what I would like to see. I didn’t really have any plans so just said I would like to avoid crowds. This was in full bloom Cherry blossom season, so I knew it would be a very difficult ask. But Kosuke was brilliant! We went to little known spots where there were just locals, including a a castle where just the locals were having Hanami. We also went to all the main attractions but at times when they were less crowded. Over 2 days I saw all around Kyoto including Nara and Ariashiyama. A Sake brewery and a little known castle where there were just locals. Kosuke was very flexible with plans and I highly recommend him.We had a a wonderful experience yesterday in Kyoto with a private guide, Kosuke. We had a a wonderful experience yesterday in Kyoto with a private guide, Kosuke. Kosuke has a minivan that can accommodate up to 9 people (we only had 4). We had a limited time in this beautiful city and in 8 hours with Kosuke we explored 2 off the beaten pass temples, Fushimi inari shrine (and a secret bamboo grove behind it), Arashiyama with its bamboo forest and monkey park, and had lunch in a welcoming sushi restaurant. Kosuke has a great sense of humour and is a very kind, patient and knowledgeable guide. We were a group of first-time travellers to Kyoto who did not have much time in the city. There's no better way to explore Kyoto than booking a tour with Kosuke and his van. We got to customize the pace and itinerary to our liking on the day itself. Tell him what spots you'd like to visit, things you want to shop for, foods you'd like to eat, or just ask him for suggestions and he'll arrange it all. Kosuke was very punctual for our pickup from the hotel and speaks English fluently. He is a walking encyclopedia of Kyoto and the Kansai region and will carefully explain the history and background of the various attractions you go to. He also brought us to several spots in Kyoto that perhaps only the locals know of, which turned out to be some of the best sights we saw that day. It is evident that Kosuke is very passionate about his native city and wants to share this appreciation with everyone who engages his services. As we were relatively aged travellers who preferred a slower pace, the van is the optimal way to travel about and still tick off many locations on the bucket list. A very good example: we drove to Arashiyama and literally exited the vehicle right into the center of the famed Bamboo Forest. Little to no walking required. Kosuke will give you plenty of time to explore places where you can try the local street fare and shop for products local to Kyoto/Kansai region. Let him know what you'd like to have for lunch or dinner and he'll call to make reservations at places only the locals go to. The soba restaurant we visited for lunch was by far the best meal we had in Kyoto. Like many of the places he will bring you to, Kosuke is a hidden gem of a guide and I can't recommend his services highly enough. Book him with confidence and enjoy your tour of Kyoto or the Kansai region pain and worry free.
