A small group of us hired Boy for our tour of the Normandy WWII sights. He met us promptly at the cruise ship terminal in Cherbourg and had us back well in time for the "all aboard." For weeks before, he communicated with us frequently and answered all our questions. Our group of 8 could not find a question that Boy did not know the answer to. His knowledge of D-Day, the events and significance, is encyclopedic. And yet, he never talked too much. I appreciated that whenever we walked around as a group, Boy made a point to approach each of us from time to time to speak to us individually. He encouraged questions. The only issue I had was the stop for lunch. We were herded into a large restaurant that caters to bus tours. While the food was fine, I would have liked to have had options - a couple smaller places were within walking distance. Boy could have pointed out his preferred place, mentioned their popularity with the larger tours, but also then suggested alternatives. We paid a more-than-reasonable fee for this 7-hour tour. Compare that to what the cruise ship charges for a much larger group experience. Don't let the sparsity of reviews deter you from booking Boy. He has been a tour guide for many years, recently starting his own company. Our tour guide Boy was incredible. A perfect combination of professionalism and yet very personable. Boy was very knowledgeable of the history to properly allow our small group to experience Normandy. I would give Boy and Neptune my highest recommendation

This private American D-Day guided tour with Boy Eysbroek was perhaps the most comprehensive and informative tour I have ever been on anywhere in the world! Boy met our party of 5 at Cherbourg cruise terminal, spent the entire day, roomy, comfortable van. Boy was a veritable encyclopedia of relevant and interesting details regarding D-day, the beaches, the landings, the battles, the whole thing. Personable, engaging and attentive, with a great delivery. Our first stop was Ste Mere Eglise and that stop alone made the trip worthwhile. We spent plenty of time there and at each subsequent stop. We knew we had chosen wisely when we were at Ste Mere Eglise and we witnessed a string of tour buses (no doubt from ship) come and go with barely enough time for those folks to even get off and on the bus before it moved on. Had a wonderful lunch at local establishment. Our cruise ship stopped her in early November and we wanted to see the D-Day memorials but didn't want to book a large bus tour. Our cruise ship stopped her in early November and we wanted to see the D-Day memorials but didn't want to book a large bus tour. Are we ever glad we booked this tour! Boy was a great guide and took us places that we could have not gone with a tour bus. He is extremely knowledgeable and passionate above the events that lead up to and after the invasion. Probably the best part was taking us to the American Cemetery an hour before closing so that we could see the lowering of the flags and the playing of taps. A fitting way to end an amazing dayBoy is amazing! He is lovely, charming and very knowledgeable. He was flexible in arranging our itinerary and responsive to our requests. I highly recommend him.
