Ramayana Ballet Prambanan is a unique and stunning performance that brings the ancient Hindu epic to life through dance and music. 5 stars. Pick up was on time, guide was excellent at explaining the history, restoration work and various bits of detail around the temple. The ballet was good fun, though helpful if you know your Ramayana story (which luckily I did) and the return to the hotel was smooth.

First we were visiting the prambanan temple area. There our guide explained very good everything about the Main temple Rara Jonggrang (Hindu). Also our driver Pras makes very good pictures and helped us a lot to fix that nice momories on photos. The second stop was dinner at a restaurant up the hill. From there you have a good overview of yogyakarta and especially also the prambanan temple area (so we had luck that the usual restaurant at the temple was already booked out). The last stop was the wonderful ballet interpretation of Ramanaya. The synopsys of that were us already explained by your tour guide at the first stop (big thanks again). Ofcours its possible to download the synopsis after entering the theatre via QR code. The ballet was magnificently staged. I went to the Prambanan Temple to see the sunset and then dinner at a restaurant on a hill overlooking Prambanan followed by the Ramayana Ballet. I had a fabulous time. The guide is excellent. He grew up around Prambanan and used to play amongst the ruins when he was a child so he knows every rock that is there. I thought I was going to have buffet at the theater before the show but the package is for me to have dinner at a fancy restaurant on top of a hill overlooking the temple. That is a nice surprise. The ballet is a must. The costumes and that it is set right in front of the temple is unforgettable. When they say VIP seating, they mean it. My seat is almost the middle seat in front of the stage. My driver, Youss, is also easygoing and friendly. He also took a lot of photos for me. Everything was wonderful. The driver came to hotel to pick us then we went to the temple. The view was amazing and we had our own guide arranged for us. The dinner buffet was not that good though, has very few options but the taste was ok. The ballet show was really nice and we can take photos with the actors after the show as well. Everything is included in the price and we don't need to pay for anything else. The driver with us this time was a really nice guy. He was very friendly and helpful. Hope to see you next time when I come to Indonesia again.
