I did a guided tour of Potsdam from Berlin with one of the city tour operators. I'm glad I did it that way as I got to see different areas of Potsdam which is much bigger than I thought actually. The guide did I bit too much talking about the palace and the king for my own liking but you certainly get your money's worth that way! What I would have liked it the chance to take a couple of photos of other places along the way (such as the 'bridge of spies', the Dutch quarter and the Russian houses and the old KGB prison.I took this tour without really knowing what to expect as it was my first day in Berlin, travelling on my own. I took this tour without really knowing what to expect as it was my first day in Berlin, travelling on my own. Our guide for the day, Gregor, met us in Berlin and explained that we would be travelling to another town, and so the journey started! We went back in time to relive the life of Frederick the Great, we visited marvellous sights such as the Cecilienhof Palace, where the Potsdam conference was held deciding the future of Germany after World War Ist, and the magnificent Sanssoucis palace, which translated from French means the "No-worries Palace". We were even given the chance to listen to a Ramstein song to get the full experience of German Romanticism. It was a truly memorable experience with a really knowledgeable and engaging guide. Would 100 % recommend.Kyle was amazing tour guide, she has a lot of knowlegde, very helpful, Funny, friendly, de had an amazing experience keith her as a Guido, thoroghly enjoyed it, 5 star!!!

The Discover Potsdam tour really was a fantastic experience and I would 100% recommend it. Our Tour Guide was Rob McCracken and he could not have been more knowledgeable or sensitive to our group needs. Rob is a history graduate and has immense depth of knowledge, I felt we only tapped the surface of the information he was able to provide. Rob navigated us to Potsdam via train & bus, saving us vast amounts of time researching the local transport routes. He took the trouble to find out about each member of the group and made sure everyone was present and okay at each stage. The actual tour when we arrived at Potsdam took in all the main sites and was extremely informative, enjoyable and fun, despite the rain at times! There was a well timed morning break with a comfort stop and the opportunity to purchase a coffee, then after further sightseeing and a short bus trip we had lunch in a beautiful area of Potsdam. We enjoyed the food, tip: go in the restaurant the guide goes in, they know the best ones! Certainly don't forget your camera/phone and comfortable trainers/walking shoes. Time well spent, you will enjoy this well timed tour of beautiful Potsdam. Thank you Rob for enhancing our trip to Berlin and making it so memorable. In itself I found Potsdam lovely, but tour guide Seb B made the visit to the city even more enjoyable with his humor as he walked us through the region's history.
