Podgorica Car Trip - Architecture, History, Wine tasting, Churches, Doclea city
Overview
At the beginning we go to ancient settlement of Roman city Doclea, which is now in ruins. There you would enjoy in panoramic view on Podgorica from Trijebac hill. Later we go to the Temple of Christ's resurrection, which is one of the biggest in region and even if it is new, already have important history role. Than we continue to Monastery Dajbabe, built inside small cave, an amazing nature wonder. Our coffee break would be to the local Niagara falls, an old dam on Cijevna canyon, there is a nice restaurant now. After that we would visit winery Plantaze, one of the biggest vineyard in Europe and have wine tasting in Sipcanik tunnel, which is abandoned military air base under the hill. Last destination is Old town, were are ruins of Nemanjica city, Clock tower and Old bridge Skaline, as well there is monument of King Nikola Petrovic.
A lot of historic information and nice views, will make this journey memorable.

Ruins of old city Doclea is the most important location in Podgorica. How the city is just in ruins you would not have a chance to see much of it, but it worth to visit.

The biggest Orthodox church in Montenegro is modern architecture and one of the most beautiful churches inside, something you must visit.

Here you will have a chance to visit one of the most interesting nature wonder, the church inside cave in shape of a cross.

One of the greatest grapevine in Europe and Old military air base inside hill will give incredible story for true vine lovers. You will have a chance to taste some of most popular Montenegrian vines.

This waterfalls are really amazing when there is a lot of water. Here is very nice local restaurant where you will have a break for coffee or drink.

Watchtower in Old town of Podgorica is place where we end trip and make a break in local restaurant for good proper dinner and drink.

We were picked on time and taken out of the city to see some old Roman sites, then a look out over the city, time for coffee, lots of history along the way and the new orthodox church in the city. We then headed to another site where they used to have a water mill, with restaurant but didn't eat there. Next we visited an old fishing village on Lake Shkodra to see an old building which is sadly falling apart due to lack of government funding. Back in the car for the best view yet, an horseshoe bend comparable to the Colorado River! Fantastic. To end this excellent trip, we visited a lovely winery where we had a very tasty lunch and wine tasting. Our host was lovely! Big thank you to our driver and guide Milija for a great day!We had such an amazing day out exploring and seeing some of the most incredible viewpoints. Milija taught us so much about the history of Montenegro and the areas we visited. This trip is a must for anyone visiting Podgorica!

After some messages we found the perfect compromise. And as if it was perfect! we saw some awesome locations and went to a local winery. Everything was private and he guided us with so much knowledge. We definitely recommend this trip! Wauw! He even told us about other things we have to go see. What an experience.
