This was our best tour in India and gave us a much better insight into Old Delhi than the day tour provided by our tour group guide. Our guide, Jaidev, was fantastic, knowledgeable both about Delhi and photography. We met him at the station and then met up with a third tourist, a Canadian. During out introductions, he asked us what we hoped to get out of the tour. We started in the Jama Masjid area and walked through old havelas, now used as shops, selling everything from car spare parts and tools, spices and flowers. We stopped for delicious street food snacks at several places: poori, galub jamun, lassi, little cookies, chai etc, and found a Jain cafe particularly interesting - we had a cheese, mango, grape and strawberry sandwich they don't eat meat. We saw barbers shaving customers in the street and an ear cleaner at work. We saw workmen sitting in front of their tools waiting to be hired. Exciting rides by tuctuc gave us an opportunity for more street shots, and Jaidev gave us hints on how to improve our shots. We finished with more street food, but sadly we were too full to eat it all. Don't miss this tour, especially if you want to get some candid street shots and try the delicious street food.

We usually explore on our own, but we only had 2 days and no time to do any major research beforehand, so we went with Food Tour in Delhi, as recommended by my work colleague. We've opted for the combined full day Food and Photography Tour. Rajeev, the owner of the company, and the driver picked us up in an air conditioned van. He asked us what type of photography we were into - we said street/travel photography. He then inspected our cameras, changed some settings, gave a few advices and let us try our first shots to implement what he's just taught us, before we reached the breakfast spot in Old Delhi. It was more than just a breakfast - it was a full on tasting without stuffing us- including Cachori, Potato, Bedmi and some great rose water lassi. He talked us the different flavors that you experience while taking your first, second and then third bite. It was truly amazing to notice these different flavors, while eating the same food, but just taking another bite or by combining it with some different food. We tasted a few more street food stalls, followed by cookies and kulfi (some ice cream) before taking a Rikshaw to the Spice Souk. We had lunch and then visited a flower shop, where people buy flowers for temple offerings – so colorful and beautiful for pictures, we then went up the roof, observed the busy road from a different perspective. Next, we visited a local temple and entered its communal kitchen where they cook in massive pots and pans on big stoves - everyone there was volunteering, truly unique vibe and experience. We asked to book another day tour for the following day and luckily enough – Rajeev was able to move some things around and show us around the next day. While the first day was very focused on daily life of Delhi, the second day we wanted to see of the tourist sights – We visited Qutb Minar, Lotus Temple and Humayun's Tomb accompanied by great food from start to finish. We finished off our second day with a Tea Tasting – at this great Tea House, the Owner, Vikram performed the tea tasting for us –very knowledgeable man, and such an interesting, delicious tea tasting experience. We stocked up on the delicious tea for and as some gifts. Rajeev has done an amazing job in balancing the food and photography element of the tour and we were truly impressed of how much we’ve seen and experienced in only 2 days.Thank you so much for this delicious culinary adventure! We'll be back soon!

This was a great introduction to Delhi. I was picked up at my hotel early and met up with Jaidev in Old Delhi. We walked the streets and he pointed out some great photo opportunities. We experimented with panning and using the contours of the walls for interesting perspectives. I even got some shots of monkeys and a mongoose. Half way through, we started to sample food at several locations trying everything from samosas to cookies. I ate enough to skip dinner. They usually visit the spice market but construction made it hard to get to, so we skipped it (and my regular tour visited it the next day). I highly recommend the tour if you have a free day in Delhi.
