What to expect
Your group will follow your guide(s) along the engaging Downstream Ouray Via Ferrata route, winding through the Uncompahgre Gorge, right across from the world-famous Ouray Ice Park. You'll encounter a variety of obstacles, including a wire bridge and a ladder, as well as some fun vertical climbing sections, with the river rushing below. Several waterfalls, sheer cliff walls and big mountains above provide beautiful views throughout the day. This activity can be strenuous, especially considering our high altitude, and is only recommended for those with a good level of fitness. It is more of a climb than a hike.

- Not recommended for children younger than 10 years old or shorter than 5'0".
- Participants should have a reasonable level of fitness, and be capable of hiking an uneven, rocky trail at above 10, 000'.
- Not recommended for those with a severe fear of heights.

Safety is their first concern, and we all felt incredibly well taken care of the whole time. Our guide, Spencer, was was very experienced and assisted in constructing the course a few years ago. He was a pleasant companion to climb with. As an aside, the course is open to the public for no cost. As cool as this experience was, it was way over priced.
