A complete E-bike tour of the town of Orvieto. Our guide was very thorough in his history of the town, showing us some of the under ground caves from early times. A wonderful dinner, including wine in the square looking at the Duomo. Highly recommend this tour.

Where do I start? The experience was an evening eBike ride around the cobblestone streets of the ancient walled city of Orvieto and it was to include a little wine and a snack. What actually occurred was so much more that we are still talking about how magical the evening was! First and foremost, the town is lovely. The bikes were terrific (not going to lie, the electric portion of our transportation was invaluable) and the stops around the walls of the city (along with places of interest within the city itself) were perfectly measured, but the pièce de ré·sis·tance was the after-tour "snack" at the exquisitely-situated Cantina Foresi on the Piazza del Duomo. Alessandro and his mother could not have been more amazing hosts! Paolo led us down into the wine cellar beneath the restaurant where we saw barrels and bottles that were decades old in a space that was centuries older. The current owner is the grandson of the cafe's founder, which has been in this space since 1953 and the cellar dates back some 700 years! Once seated in the Piazza out front of the cafe, Alessandro's momma (whose name, unfortunately, I do not remember, but she seemed perfectly content being called momma) kept the food courses coming (perfectly matched by all of the wine pairings that Alessandro offered) well past 10PM when we had the square to ourselves. BTW, can I mention that I have become a big fan of the Orvieto Classico, a dry white wine grown and bottled locally? We shared the experience with a wonderful family from Colorado, who agreed that the entire evening could NOT have been any better. Paolo, who owns a number of eBike experiences throughout Italy has done a terrific job of putting together this special Orvieto tour. I cannot recommend it highly enough.Paulo led us on an amazing tour of the city. He is a wealth of facts and figures and showed a real interest in getting to know us. Paulo led us on an amazing tour of the city. He is a wealth of facts and figures and showed a real interest in getting to know us. We were overwhelmed with the beauty of the city and the surrounding countryside. Seemed too beautiful to be real. Ebikes were a lot of fun. Sure makes going up the hills super easy. Price very fair. Note: tour did not include duomo so do that on your own. See separate review of cantina foresi.Paulo was a fantastic host, knowledgeable and very helpful. Paulo was a fantastic host, knowledgeable and very helpful. He explained the history of Orvieto and the various eras in fine detail. The bikes functioned flawlessly and were comfortable and easy to ride with the electric assist when needed. The dinner at the end of the ride was fabulous and we were very very happy. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Orvieto!Paolo is very knowledgeable about the history of this area, and biking from point to point was so fun! Paolo is very knowledgeable about the history of this area, and biking from point to point was so fun! We started in daylight and finished in the dark (we had lights on the bikes), and it was great to see the city from both perspectives. The tasting-dinner and wine that followed (and the visit to the amazing wine cellar!) also were highlights. You might want a little backpack for personal items and water, as there isn't a way to secure a purse to the back of the bike. But he kindly carried my purse in his backpack, so it worked out just fine. He offers other bike tours, which i'd like to try as well. This was a good value and a fun experience.Paulo’s tour is a great way to experience Orvieto. You will learn many interesting facts about the town and its history and have a ton of fun ridding the e-bikes. The food and drink at Cantina Foresi at the Piazza del Duomo was the perfect ending.
