Overview
IMPORTANT***
Our priority is always to provide a safe, trained, certified and whenever possible bilingual driver. Fortunately & unfortunately we are almost fully booked during your travel dates, therefore we are out of availability for bilingual drivers. However, even the non-bilingual drivers will understand basic English commands such as bathroom or grocery stops, they can also always use the translator through our van WIFI or call our office for extra assistance. Please note that this does not put down 100% the possibility of your driver for the day being bilingual as we could encounter cancellations or calendar modifications that will free our current schedule.
Inclusions
- Meet and greet at the airport or selected location
- No charge/free wait for up to 3 hours in case of a flight delay
- A/C, WIFI, Official tourism and insured vehicles
- Private service (for your group only)
- 35-minute courtesy stop if needed (bathroom, food or groceries)
- Service quoted for 4 passengers (additional passengers are welcome for an extra charge per person)
- One child/infant sea available free of charge (additional seats available for an extra charge)
- The type of vehicle will be determined according to the number of people & or route.
What to expect
After luggage pickup, please proceed OUTSIDE the airport and look out for your driver; he/she will be waiting at the only exit of the airport holding a customized airport sign with your name on it.
If by any chance you can't find your name, just go to the airport’s only coffee shop and contact us directly via Call, iMessage or WhatsApp at +506 87224778. There is FREE WIFI at the airport.
⚠️ Early arrivals: We work based on the original flight landing time you booked with us, if you are landing earlier please send us an advice notice & wait for your driver at the coffee shop outside the airport terminal.
⚠️ Bear in mind that gratuities for your driver or guide are not included in the total amount billed. The suggested amount for each service is between 15 and 20% depending on your level of satisfaction.
⚠️ Services that require after-hours (from 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM) pick-up and/or drop off, will have an additional fee based on the distance and travel time.

On-Time. Friendly. Modern van. Strong A/C. So after a brutal 20-hour trip from overseas, where I arrived 2-hours later than planned, I was definitely worried the shuttle wasn’t even going to be there. But when I finally got out of baggage claim to meet Fernando, the driver, I was greeted with a small (sign) with my name on it and a big smile. I was relieved I wasn’t stranded in San José and grateful for Fernando’s kindness and patience. The van is super modern, comfortable seats, strong A/C and comes with bottled water. The drive only took 4 hours (San Jose to Playa Grande) and probably could have been quicker but I had asked to stop a couple times to use the facilities. The driver is a born and raised Tico (who speaks perfect English) filled with a ton of local knowledge. He was fun to chat with and I’m not normally the chatty type. Our holiday to Costa Rica was amazing. We booked private transfers with Playa grande Shuttle services. Our driver Charles picked us up promptly and his car was spacious. He gave us lots of info about CR . Our driver for our journey home was Ariel. He gave us a lovely sightseeing tour back to the airport. Once again his car was spacious with wifi so I could check what was happening with our flights. We would definitely use plays grande shuttles again.Awesome service!
