What to expect
You will be picked up from your accommodation in Reykjavík from 5:30 pm, in a Super Jeep designed for your comfort. These jeeps have a limited number of seats, so you can be guaranteed that your tour will be as personal and intimate as possible.
Once your group is gathered, you will head straight out of the city to the charming village of Flúðir. Here, you will find the Secret Lagoon, immersed in nature. This is Iceland’s oldest swimming pool, established in 1891, and is a place where history and natural beauty combine.
The steam rising from the pool and the surrounding geothermal area give the Secret Lagoon an otherworldly appearance, more similar fantasy than reality. The only thing more magical than staring at it, however, is basking in its pristine waters, which year-round are between 38 and 39° Celsius (100 to 102° Fahrenheit).
The pool itself has been kept in its natural state, to preserve its history and character; all modern amenities, however, such as changing facilities, showers, and an on-site cafe, have been established to make your stay as carefree as possible. It is thus possible to kick back and relax in comfort, with your eyes on the night sky, awaiting the arrival of the Northern Lights.
Watching the auroras descend from the canopy of stars above while basking in the lagoon is an incredible experience. The dancing, swirling lights, usually green but occasionally red, white, purple and blue, will captivate you for hours, and make sure that this evening will stay with you for life.
If you are not lucky enough to see the lights from the Secret Lagoon, do not despair; your Super Jeep will come in very handy. With its ability to take rough trails off the beaten track that buses cannot, it is possible for your guide to take you to the darkest, most secluded areas with the least cloud cover so that you can have another opportunity to enjoy this rare and bewitching sight.
As with many things in nature, however, there are no guarantees that the aurora borealis will show. If they are acting elusive and your guide does not believe they will come out, you will get to visit more hot-springs instead, or perhaps even go caving as an alternative, based on the desires of your group.
So grab your camera, warm clothes, and swimsuit, and get ready for this enchanting, awe-inspiring tour. Combining hot springs, the Northern Lights, and incredible nature, this trip will let you enjoy a classic Icelandic winter experience in comfort and style. Book your place now. Check availability by choosing a date.

A very enjoyable experience. Adam is extremely helpful and patient. After a relaxing time at the secret lagoon we chased the northern lights. Despite the weather conditions we managed to catch the lights with our camera, that Adam helped us to set.

Adam was amazing on this tour. It was just my fiance and I. Adam was very personable and we just had a blast. Secret lagoon was nice and relaxing and we lucked out with such a clear night that we got awesome pictures. Adam being a professional photographer took absolutely stunning pictures and definitely took his time with them. He took us to secluded areas for the northern lights and we didn't have the multiple bus tours with us. I would totally book this trip Everytime we are in Iceland!First, the Secret Lagoon in the evening was absolutely amazing! Our guide’s, knowledge of the viewing spots and photography enabled us to not only see the Northern Lights, but also provided a beautiful family photo!

First off, Adam is a fantastic guide... he really does know his stuff and I'm not sure we would have seen those elusive Northern lights if it wasn't for his enthusiasm and absolute determination to give us a good experience! The very slight negative for us was that there were 6 of us on this tour, and our family of 4 are all very big (husband ex rugby player, 6'8", son current rugby player around 6', myself a tall 5'8", and a normal size 11 year old) so we were a bit uncomfortable with 2 extra passengers. I assumed it would just be us when I booked. Please do not let this influence your decision to book Adam for this trip though unless you are also a family of giants...but even then, he is worth a bit of discomfort. And the extra 2 people were great fun so we made new friends too. The secret Lagoon was very pleasant. I didn't think I would enjoy swimming outside in the dark and snow but actually we all loved it, and it was even a little too warm in some spots. Unexpected bonus was the bar and enjoying a glass of wine with our new friends in the water! But the highlight of course was finding the lights. Adam wanted to take photo's and they were fabulous, he has quite a talent there. He was happy to wait around for as long as we wanted to, and in fact, we wanted to leave in the end before he did. I got the impression he would have stayed forever if that's what we wanted. And I loved his personal story too. Brave and romantic! So, the message here is, please do book this experience. You won't be disappointed and although you can never guarantee a sighting you will have an interesting evening with Adam as a guide regardless! The intimacy of this tour was really nice, as there is only max 6 of you in the super jeep. I did extensive research to make sure we get to see the northern lights and all the reviews in viator and trip advisor led me to believe adam will be the perfect guide for this, thank god i did and booked it. Not only did we manage to see it on a day what is considered as less chance of seeing it but adam managed to take pictures of us witnessing it, which the photography itself is a hard task. We had a small group of 5 people altogether which also made it the more private, friendly and fun tour. I work in the hospitality industry and to see adam go all out to make sure we manage to see the lights and be so kind was a treat, especially when you are at the receiving end. You might think its pricey but I think its completely worth it, especially after almost everyone we met during other activities mentioning how they haven’t been able to see the northern lights for days and how they’ve been trying every night to no vail, including the night we went. If you want to witness the northern lights with that special someone, id highly recommend adam to be your guide.
