Experience some stellar sights of our Banks Peninsula night sky in this stargazing group tour.
Your immersion into the darkness starts as you first look up with your naked eyes. You will then get to see deeper into space thanks to our binoculars and telescope.
Follow our Guide as he takes you on a journey of discoveries. Ask him any questions you might have about our night sky!
No prior astronomy knowledge is required.
On a clear night, it is essentially impossible to run out of objects to look for in the night sky, making stargazing an infinite source of inspiration and amazement.

Akaroa Stargazing was absolutely amazing! Luca is very passionate and knowledgeable about the night sky and keen to share it. Both Luca and Mano are super friendly and they have everything there to help enjoy your experience with hot drinks and blankets for those cold winter nights. The photo they take at the end and to send to you later on is fantastic and a great touch. I would highly recommend to do this if you get the chance especially on a clear night -it’s phenomenal!Luca gave a very enthusiastic and understandable experience. He thought of everything, including low light illumination for our safety, and tea and insect repellent. I highly recommend this to people of all ages and levels of prior knowledge.

It was an amazing night with lots of stars and information of the southern hemisphere when you look into the nightsky with your bare eyes or through the telescope. We had a very pleasant time yesterday evening with Luca. He gave us plenty of informations, really cool facts about stars, galaxies, supernova, light pollution. The park where the activity takes place is out of town and high enough to not get any light pollution. It was pretty cold but Luca provides blankets and hot tea for us to stay warm, which is much appreciated. Thank again!This was absolutely amazing experience.
