We are a couple in our 60's and experienced independent travelers. Tai was our driver guide on two full day tours and coordinated our third tour. First tour was to Monono Island to spend hands on time with a family in their daily life (Thank you for allowing us to visit) and included a walk around the island to understand the history and daily living of this island that has no vehicles so locals walk everywhere. Tai had arrange a boat across to the island, visit to the family home plus our pick up and return to our Sheraton Samoa Beach accommodation nearby. This was something unusual and a great way to understand Samoan life and culture. Second tour was a full day on the big island Savaii. Tai collected us from our hotel, arranged our tickets and boarding on the ferry and meeting of his colleague Chris on Savaii. We had a specific list of places we wanted to see and spent the full day with Chris circumnavigating the island then staying at Jet Over Hotel (our wrong choice of Hotel and not recommended as there are better). The next day Chris left his Sunday family gathering to collect us and safely arranged our boarding of the 1pm return ferry. Tai had given us money for a taxi back to our hotel. Third tour we spent a full day of Upolu with Tai doing the full circle seeing specific places we wanted to see plus Tai added in a few extras that were fantastic (thank you). The highlight of this tour was the unique giant clams. Even though it was low tide, with a little trail and error, we still got around the shallow coral to see these amazing creatures. Our days sightseeing was ambitious to do in a day but Tai pulled it off. From the very beginning of booking until the final farewell everything was perfect, punctual, caring, knowledgeable and friendly. We would highly recommend Tai's Native Experience but be warned that you will need to book a long way in advance as they have a busy schedule of bookings. His colleagues are equally attentive and knowledgeable because prior to the pandemic they all worked together in the tourism industry so Tai has an excellent team. We wish them well into the future. This review was not encouraged or influenced and as a regular poster on review sites you will see my review history they are both positive and negative so very truthful. My trip to Samoa wouldn't have been the same without Tai. My trip to Samoa wouldn't have been the same without Tai. Hands down the best tour company/experience that Samoa has to offer. Tai made me feel at home and made sure that my short stay in Samoa was simply the best. Sorry that this is a lengthy review but I think Tai & team deserve all the glory and I also feel it would help others in making the decision of choosing Tai, over others, a tad bit easier. I had the privilege of being part of 2 tours organized by Tai. One was a day long immersive experience with a Samoan family. This was an authentic and hands-on as it can get. Tai picked me up and simply dropped me with a family in his village and said the rest of the day is between you and the family. For the next 8 hours I was involved in every aspect of their day to day life, be it prepping the food for the day, setting up the Umu, gathering everything that we needed form the garden and fields around, feeding their chicken, walking deep into the village meeting fellow members of the village who happened to pass by or gathering fruit from random trees and cooling off by the stream. It was not pretentious, as real as it can get and above all with limited English between the host family (where only one member was able to communicate well) and myself. But yet I felt I simply became part of the family, learning everything they did through trial and error, exchanging our own lived experiences and ways of life and how similar we ultimately were regardless of the cultural practices that we have come to be. I will never forget this day. It felt like a blessing to be able to experience this. The second day Tai arranged a day tour around Upolu with Chris. It was great to see all the "must sees" in the Island. But what made this day extra special was the in depth knowledge of history, lived experience, and local practices and ways of life that Chris shared with me that made the day sweeter. Chris was equally curious about my own culture and experience and I will always remember and cherish these moments of discussion. Chris was calm and patient and we even ended up checking out a local wedding that we happened to pass by. How cool is that! I think I have said enough to convince to give this tour company a chance. Tai's Native Experience is simply the best in Samoa. My friends and I joined Tai on his Turtle Island and Eastern Upolu full day tour, and what a brilliant experience it was!! My friends and I joined Tai on his Turtle Island and Eastern Upolu full day tour, and what a brilliant experience it was!! He was warm, hospitable and able to give us an in-depth insight into Samoan history, customs and culture making the trip sooooo much more than a sightseeing trip to different tourist spots! I particularly enjoyed the little demonstrations such as basket weaving and coconut cream preparation. This trip with Tai was one of the highlights of my Samoan experience and left me with a huge appreciation of the Samoan people. An absolute must-do!From the moment I started to follow Tai's posts on social media i knew i was going to book a tour with him. From the moment I started to follow Tai's posts on social media i knew i was going to book a tour with him. Tai is not just an average tour guide, he is a great person and is a very respected person wherever he travels to around Samoa. Tai was fabulous in communicating with my before we arrived in Samoa - he met us at our resort and took us around Upolu for our first tour. It was amazing! My son told me that he already loves Samoa and it was only our 2nd day - Tai was brilliant, so knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Tai also gave us some great ideas of things to do around Upolu and he answered my questions during the week. Our second tour was to Savai'i - that was a GREAT adventure! although the weather was not in our favour for our return trip home Tai made us feel so comfortable. After being stuck on Savaii due to the bad weather Tai offered us his relatives home to stay for the night, we were absolutely fortunate to have met such lovely people. What we thought was just a nightmare being stuck on an island turned into an amazing experience. Thank you so much Tai again to you and your family it was the most kindest gesture. I am so thankful that we went ahead and booked our tours with you, you made it fun, exciting and so informative - my boys loved spending the day with you also! I hope we get to see you again when we travel to beautiful Samoa. Wishing you and your family all the best Tai. Kind Regards, Bahar and familyWhat a wonderful day.
