The Mount Fuji and Hakone tour was excellent! I know there are some poor reviews so here are some disclaimers to help you: 1) Time is essential for the tour to run smoothly, so please follow the Guide’s instructions for meeting times and meeting spots throughout your day. These were reasonable and easy to find. 2) Mount Fuji is only viewable ~100 days a year and only for a few hours at a time. The tour company can’t predict when you will have a good view and there is a possibility you won’t get to see it. The tour was well thought out in terms of timing. I really enjoyed the multiple opportunities to see Mount Fuji (And take pictures) and to learn a bit more about its history and culture surrounding the mountain. Jane was our guide and she did a phenomenal job in keeping the tour on time, explaining instructions, and guiding us for photo opportunities. She provided the perfect mix of teaching us Japanese culture, history, folklore, and language with personal anecdotes. She is funny and entertaining while being so thoughtful. She took photos of us throughout the tour and was thoughtful to try to keep other tourists out of the pics! She was especially helpful for my mom who has some physical limitations. For anyone with physical limitations that may struggle with stairs, most places have elevators but the Hakone shrine does not. There are 89 stairs to get up to the shrine and at least 2/3 of that to go down to the floating Tori. The tour also did a great job in accommodating our food restrictions (we’re vegetarian), though we did bring snacks and water since it’s a long day! That being said, there are souvenir shops at most of the stops to get water/snacks. I am not generally a tour person (prefer to go my own way and wing it), but I really enjoyed this tour and would recommend it to anyone who has a full day and wants to see Mount Fuji! The trip was awesome. Mo is a great tour leader. She is kind and very informative. We are lucky to view the Mt Fuji very clear. Overall this trip is awesome and unforgettable.
