Pass By: Lucerne, Lucerne
Meet your guide in central Lucerne (Frankenstrasse 2-4) in the early afternoon.
Stop At: Pilatus Luzern, Schlossweg 1, Kriens, Lucerne 6010 Switzerland
Hop aboard your comfortable coach for the short journey to Kriens, at the foot of the imposing Mt Pilatus. On arrival, begin your ascent to the mountain’s lofty summit with a 30-minute panoramic gondola ride to the Fräkmüntegg terminus. Enjoy beautiful views over the rolling hills and lush pine forests below.
At Fräkmüntegg, hop aboard the aerial tramway — a spacious and modern cabin with panoramic windows designed to give the feeling of flight. Continue your climb to the summit at a dizzying altitude of 7, 000 feet, and take in spectacular views over the Alpine peaks and lakes from your vantage point on the mountain.
During your free time atop Mt Pilatus, perhaps sit down to a high-altitude lunch among the peaks (own expense) or relax on the expansive sun terrace. Venture down the Dragon's Path and take a short hike around the summit to enjoy the amazing views.

Pass By: Alpnachstad, Alpnachstad
Take the world's steepest cogwheel train down to Alpnachstad, descending past trickling mountain streams and sheer rock faces toward the verdant, green meadows below.

My wife and I were dumped into an existing group visiting the mountain from Zurich (we went from Lucerne). Total chaos. We were also rushed A group of four of us were left behind from the others at the cable car transfer. The tour was supposed to end no earlier than 6:00pm. We got off the boat at 5:30pm. I suppose our tour guide needed to move her more important Zurich group along. Another experience like this, and I won’t use TripAdvisor (Viator) again. You should give me a full refund for this experience.Amazing day! Isabel was our tour guide and she is lovely, and knowledgeable. Every part of the day was so cool and the views from Mount Pilatus were stunning. Highly recommend the Tomlishorn trail when you have your free time- wear supportive shoes for this trail though!
