Our guide Ben was excellent. He really seemed very passionate and knowledgable about the local wildlife and answered all our questions and even spotted and stopped to let me try and capture a picture of a shrike which I was very enthusiastic about. I really can't say whether my favourite part was the great authentic breakfast, the bird of prey demonstration (which included a peregrine falcon, dessert eagle owl and a barn owl), the wildlife or the camel ride. I couldn't believe how sweet natured the camels were enjoying scratches. Overall great tour to get a small amount of time experiencing many things. I only wish each portion could be longer to make it a full day tour! Thanks Ben!If you're curious about falcons and other birds of prey, if you want to see them fly, be able to hold them yourself and have them fly to you – this is your trip. If you're curious about falcons and other birds of prey, if you want to see them fly, be able to hold them yourself and have them fly to you – this is your trip. You'll get one hour with a falconer in a small group of people and learn everything there is to know about falconry. Most remarkable: these birds often have their own passports and fly on their own seats in business or first class next to their owners to competitions or hunting trips abroad. On top of it, you get a great breakfast in a camp and tour a desert conservation area where you hear a lot about the wildlife and the plants that thrive despite these hard conditions. Our very experienced guide was super knowledgable, knew the good photo spots and spotted animals in the wild we would have never noticed. As a family of 7 from the UK visiting a Dubai resident, we booked this Safari last minute as we had some free time and it’s safe to say, this was one of the highlights of our trip. Our guide Oscar was one of the most friendly, passionate and knowledgeable people we have ever met. He is a credit to your company and we were so lucky to have him as our guide. It is clear he is passionate about his job and Dubai’s history and conservation. The Falconry display was awesome (sorry can’t recall his name, South African chap who had just recently started and has the really noisy owl!). The breakfast provided was tasty, and was great to learn about the Bedouin people and their traditions. The camel ride was also really good, and the camels are well looked after and content (one of our group has been on a similar safari before and the camels didn’t look in the greatest of shape) so this was refreshing to see. Then the desert Safari in the old Land Rover Defenders topped the day off, with Oscar driving us around and talking us through the landscape and wild life. Oscar was happy to take lots of pictures for us, and to also pose in some with us himself!! Once back to our hotel, we were gutted the day was over and could not stop talking about it. I would strongly recommend Platinum Heritage (and Oscar!) to anyone coming to Dubai. Big Papa and family!I highly recommend this desert tour. One of the only eco-friendly tours. They explained how dune bashing is bad for the desert eco-system which is why it is not included. I highly recommend this desert tour. One of the only eco-friendly tours. They explained how dune bashing is bad for the desert eco-system which is why it is not included. I have friends who went with different tour companies and said they saw garbage or that people were trying to sell them things. That is not the case with this tour. No one tries to sell you anything. They protect the environment and because they follow the government regulations they are permitted to visit protected areas of the desert (unlike other tour groups). The served breakfast was delicious. Better than I had expected. The falconer was from South Africa (Corne) and he was great. You could tell he really enjoyed working with the birds in a kind, non-exploitive manner. I learned a lot about different wild birds native to the area and their history. Special shout-out to our tour guide, Amjad. He was friendly and we chatted with him the whole way to the desert. Amjad was a wealth of knowledge. Could not be happier with the tour and our guide. Thank you! *Support eco-friendly tourism and leave the countries we visit as clean as we found them.*
