Stop At: Oller del Mas, Carretera Igualada Km 91, 08241 Manresa Spain
Oller del Mas is not a common winery – its superb ecological wines have earned plenty of awards in the recent years. In fact, one of its wines won the “Best Wine in Catalonia” award in 2018. But the cellar is not only special for its wines. You will take a stroll by the vineyards, learn how the wine is made, and discover all of its secrets.
*We work daily with different low-production, family-owned boutique wineries. Due to logistic reasons, you might visit another cellar instead of Oller del Mas.
Stop At: Abadia de Montserrat, Carretera BP-1121 S/N, 08199 Montserrat Spain
‘Now I get it’, you say to yourself. As you appreciate the contour of the magnificent peaks of Montserrat rising in the distance, in a beautiful horizon, between vineyards and pine tree forests, you get to understand. You’ve been told all about its legends and myths during the morning, you’ve climbed its steep walls on the scenic train ride to the monastery. But it is now, from afar, contemplating how the mountain range reigns over the landscape in the distance, that you finally understand how this massif acquired its atmosphere of myth and legend. You turn around to face the rest of the group. With a glass of wine in your hand, you listen to your tour guide’s voice. It talks of generations, roots and ancient traditions. The sun feels warm in the courtyard by the castle’s façade, in the winery. Carried away, you close your eyes to embrace the tingling sensation of the wine in your tongue, mixed with the words and the overall ambience of quiet and peace.
Sample Menu
• Seasonal Vegetable Soup
• Homemade Duck Confit Parmentier
• Traditional "crema catalana" cake

This tour didn’t disappoint! It is well worth it while in Barcelona. The views and experience are memorable! Our tour guide, Merak, is wonderful and very knowledgeable. There was time enough to do everything the place has to offer. A word of advice, if you want to see the children’s choir, make sure you purchase tickets in advanced! We didn’t know that those tickets had to be purchased in advance and weren’t able to see it. It rained while at the winery during our lunch, but it didn’t spoil the experience. The rain is needed in this region.Gus was our guide and he was very good and offered assistance where required. Would have liked to be able to re-enter church on our own after initial walk through but would need to buy another ticket.

The tour was absolutely wonderful. Violeta was a delight. Knowledgeable, professional, friendly and caring. We had some mobility concerns and she made us feel extremely comfortable, offering a place to sit when possible to anyone who wanted/needed without making us feel singled out. She asked everyone if they had food allergies/likes or dislikes ahead of time for the tapas at the wine tasting which was appreciated. Violeta is extremely professional and kind. Only negative which is not directed to her is that we would have enjoyed a bit more time, possibly another hour, in Monserrat to enjoy the whole experience there. Was a pretty good daytour - morning is a drive to Montserrat and about 2.5 hours free time, afternoon is a drive to a winery with lunch and wine tasting. Was a pretty good daytour - morning is a drive to Montserrat and about 2.5 hours free time, afternoon is a drive to a winery with lunch and wine tasting. The tour makes the drive to Montserrat hassle free and there are some beautiful views along the way. While I enjoyed the tour, some points to note: 1. To visit the Black Madonna up close, please pre book tickets earlier on your own. The free timing is roughly about 11am to 1pm plus so need to book the earliest timeslot about 12pm or 12.30pm. 2. Transport is shared with other groups - which means that the buses used kept changing and time was wasted as we had to wait around for other groups (after our winery visit, we had to wait 1 hour despite there being nothing to do). 3. This wasn't really a small group tour. Our group had 21 people. Each bus has 2-3 groups. I was expecting a small group to be 15 or under. 4. Lunch was average and the winery didn't feel like a full scale winery. There was no proper wine shop, the wines were very expensive (compared to usual Barcelona prices) and the wine tasting was done by our tour guide (instead of a sommelier). The extra free 1 hour at the winery was not necessary and could have been used for extra free time in Montserrat / to return us earlier to Barcelona.
