Monteverde Night Tour
Overview
At night it is when fascinating animals such as sloths, kinkajous, bats, tarantulas, snakes, frogs, among others, are more likely to see, without forgetting the birds, yes, most birds are active during the day, but They need to rest somewhere. in those cases when we could also have the opportunity to see some beautiful and still birds while we dream, such as toucans, warblers, hummingbirds, jays, etc.

What to expect
The night tour consists of a walk along trails in one of the protected areas of Monteverde, the average route is 2 km and lasts 2 hours.
In tropical forests, 95% of the faunal activity is nocturnal, which is why a night tour is a great opportunity to observe species that are difficult to find during the day.
Some of the species that can be observed are sloths, kinkajous, bats, tarantulas, snakes, frogs, striking insects such as the leaf insect, the horned hope and the stick insect, among others.

Jean Carlos was the best tour guide we could have asked for he was very informative and had an answer to all of our questions about Monteverde and the Cloud Forest and knew the name of every animal we encountered. He knew the trails like the back of his hand... in the dark! He helped me take the most amazing photos on my iPhone and gave us great recommendations for places to go! He also seems to genuinely care about the Cloud Forrest and your enjoyment experiencing it all. After our tour we couldn’t stop reminding each other of how great he is and our tour was we actually made a toast to him at dinner a few nights later. A plus was with Jean Carlos it was just the 4 of us not a big group like we saw with other tour guides. Thank you again Jean Carlos for making our trip so special! He also, amazingly, heard the branches crackle and spotted a kinkajou which was amazing as it was our number 1 animal to spot! We saw a beautiful snake in a tree too. Excelente tour nocturno el que realizamos con Jean Carlo! Es un guía muy profesional, apasionado de su trabajo, que a parte de enseñarnos muchas curiosidades sobre la flora y fauna de Monteverde, se esforzó al máximo para que pudiéramos ver lo máximo posible! Y sin duda lo consiguió, pudimos ver muchas aves diferentes, serpientes y finalmente nuestro objetivo poder observar un perezoso despierto! Jean Carlo is an excellent experienced bird expert and besides that a great guy and he provided us with a lot of interesting information about the animals and the local nature itself. He showed us a great variety of animals around. Beyond that, he also supported us with further recommendations around Costa Rica and contacts, which was super helpful.
