What to expect
Itinerary
Day 1: HANOI - TUAN CHAU - HALONG BAY - LAN HA BAY
Stop At: Lan Ha Bay, Hai Phong, Cat Ba Vietnam
9:00 - 9:30: For guests who book the limousine transfer from Hanoi to the cruise at additional cost, will get pick up at hotel in Hanoi Old quarter.
Guests who do not book the limousien transfer will present at Mon Cheri waiting hall at #3 Got Pier, Cat Hai, Hai Phong at 12:00 noon time.
12:30: Embark Mon Chéri Cruises. You will be served a welcome drink and provided with a cold towel. This will be followed by a cruise briefing where you will also be given safety instructions before checking in to your cabin. We will set sail and you will have lunch in Mon Cheri's luxury restaurant while enjoying the beauty of the canals on our way to Halong Bay.
15:30: We arrive at Light and Dark Cave, where you can do kayaking or bamboo boat rowed by local people. Then return to Mon Chéri Cruises, followed by swimming near the ship.
17:30: Return to Mon Chéri Cruises, where you can admire the magnificent sunset over the Gulf of Tonkin and enjoy a complimentary sunset party.
18:30: Then take part in cooking demonstration to learn about our Vietnamese cuisine of traditional spring rolls.
You can also enjoy the massage service which is available onboard. (Please book directly with the Cruise Manager on the boat)
19:00: A great dining experience awaits you.
20:45-0:00: After finishing dinner, you can enjoy the landscape of the bay at night up on the top deck, relax with romantic ballad music, enjoy drinks from the bar try your luck at squid fishing, watch a movie or relax in your room.

Day 2: LAN HA BAY - BIKING IN VIET HAI VILLAGE - CAT BA ISLAND
Stop At: Cat Ba Island, Hai Phong, Cat Ba 180000 Vietnam
6:15: It is perfect to start your day in the early morning to admire the marvelous sunrise or attend the Tai Chi class on the top deck. Have a fragrant cup of coffee made from a special blend which was created just for Mon Chéri, or a refreshing cup of tea.
7:00: Buffet breakfast is served.
07:40: Transfer to a Day Boat to head to Viet Hai Village in Cat Ba island. You will take the bicycle trip along the village, admiring stunning scenery of the rice fields on the way. Then you will have some time for trekking into the forest and explore a hidden cave. (You can also choose to see the village by electric car as an alternative of bicycles)
12:00: Return to the boat, where a BBQ lunch is served on the day boat.
14:00: Kayaking to explore Van Boi Bay and visiting the local people who live in the floating village, followed by swimming at a pristine beach or kayaking.
16:00: Back on board Mon Chéri Cruises. You are free to take a shower before enjoying the sunset party with a new group of guests.
19:15: Another great dining experience awaits you.
20:45 – 00:00: After finishing dinner, you can enjoy the landscape of the bay at night up on the top deck, relax with lovely music, enjoy drinks from the bar, try your luck again at squid fishing, watch a movie or retire to your room.

Day 3: LAN HA BAY - HA LONG BAY - TUAN CHAU - HANOI
Stop At: Lan Ha Bay, Hai Phong, Cat Ba Vietnam
06:00: Wake up early to start your perfect day with Tai Chi class or watch the sunrise on the top deck. Enjoying a cup of coffee and tea is ideal choice.
7:00 – 8:30: Buffet breakfast is served in the restaurant.
8:20: Visit Cat ba island. You are taken by bus to visit the most beautiful stalagmite and stalactite cave, located in Cat Ba National Park.
9:30: Return the boat and check out the cabin. Then have brunch in restaurant while the boat sails back to pier. We settle the bill at the end of trip.
11:30: Check out boat and return to port.
Guests book the return transfer to Hanoi will get on the D-car transfer and return to Hanoi at 14:30.

Food: The cruise had decent food. The staff were very nice and accommodated different diets like vegetarian. The drinks from the upstairs bar were very yummy! Room/Boat: The room had a good amount of space. It could have been a bit cleaner (grout in bathroom dirty / found a used toothpaste cap on ground near tub). The linens on the bed were torn near the base. Wifi worked well but only in the reception and dining area. Staff: The staff on main boat were very friendly and attentive. Transportation: This needs some updating. Drivers were not friendly. The onboard outlets did not work and the AC on the entire left side of the bus was broken; not blowing any air. In addition there was no water given on the ride back to Hanoi. Opinion: Definitely feel like I paid too much booking with them directly. I was told I got ‘upgraded’ however peeking in other rooms I'm not sure that was the case. This cruise is a good fit for couples or families but, not so much for a solo traveler. I was sat alone in a corner for most of my meals because of the assigned seating although, this didn't both me. Most patrons opt for the 2D1N option.615sandeshp

We did the 3day and 2night option and was perfect amount of time to enjoy the gorgeous scenery, relax and not feel rushed. I was very impressed with the service and the entire crew of Mon Cherie who were friendly, eager to please and desired to ensure we had a nice and smooth cruise. Our guides Cong and Cherry were fun, friendly and were always available to help at any moment. The triple room and bathroom of our cabin was spacious, clean and comfortable. The excursion activities were well chosen and enjoyable: kayaking the coves, biking, Cat Ba cave, and swimming off the boat to the beach. The food was delicious and generous.Craig C

Did 2 night 3 day cruise. Stayed on Mon Cherie 1, there is a 2 which has an extra deck. Had a lower deck balcony, note all cabins have balconies. Room was much larger than anticipated as was the ensuite and we were in the smaller rooms. Have stayed in smaller hotel rooms. Room very well appointed and kept. The only issues with room I noted were in the shower with sealant moulding in places and piping needs a flush as water wasn't draining well. Boat set up is lovely and modern and well kept throughout. Whole top deck is for relaxing and lounging, with a bar area. Happy hour went for 1.5 has and they even had happy hour again after dinner. Dinner was about 6 courses and was high quality as was breakfast. Some English issues with wait staff, but ask to speak to other staff with better english if you feel misunderstood. Spring roll cooking demo daily, alternating fresh to deep fried spring rolls so you don't have the same. Tours well practised, efficient and enjoyable. Note for 2 night nighters you spend most of the 2nd day on a large comfortable day boat not the actual cruise boat, but you can opt out. The day boat also collects you from the dock and returns you as the cruise boat stays out in the bay. In fact it doesn't cruise much at all just moves from a moored day area to a moored night area which takes less than an hour. All cruise seem much the same, but you should with individual companies if it's a concern for you. Reception staff very good with good english skills.Vikas_chinchansur

The food was just amazing. So finger licking good that you don't have time to digest. They even customise based on your needs and preferences. It is a place to relax with friends and have a good time. The alcohol were little expensive do don't miss the happy hour.
