What to expect
Miravalles Volcano & Waterfalls Tour is a relatively unkown secret and takes us to one of Guanacaste’s most active volcanoes: The Miravalles! An untamed mountain covered in rainforest is the setting for this hike which permits visiting the only safely walkable crater in Costa Rica.Along our drive to the volcano we will visit one of the country’s most beautiful waterfalls and if you liked to, you can bring your swimsuits and swim under the majestic water curtain enjoy natural hot spring and mud bath

My friends and I had an amazing time and loved this tour. Alex, our friendly tour guide had an energy and passion that was infectious. He was extremely knowledgeable about all things Costa Rica and truly made our experience memorable. From bringing us fresh mangos while we sat in the hot springs to coaching us through walking over the hanging bridge, he’s a first class guide. Christian our very nice driver was professional and helpful as well. He even made an impromptu stop on the side of the road so we could see a family of monkeys after an already long day. If you’re concern about the intensity of the hike, don’t be…I’m active but not a hiker and I still managed just fine. Alex was such a great tour guide! He was so knowledgeable and passionate about what he does and is also a great photographer. Our driver was great too, they were both very friendly and personable. They took us to a local grocery store to use the restroom and grab a cup of coffee. I was able to purchase some local coffee to take home that was much less expensive than the tourist shops. The volcano mud bath is a very unique experience and the hot springs after are very relaxing.What an EXCELLENT experience. This was the best part of the week for me. What an EXCELLENT experience. This was the best part of the week for me. Our guides were professional, courteous, and very engaging. Alex, was a fount of knowledge and we learned so much abut this amazing country, its beautiful people and culture. The transport was clean, in great working condition and very comfortable! The whole family (age 7 thru 64) had a blast. I would rate 100+!An amazing day exploring quiet waterfalls and soaking in the volcano mud bath and hot springs, followed by a delicious lunch! Amazing!!! This tour was the highlight of our 2 weeks in Costa Rica! Christian and Alex are the perfect duo to take you out for the day. It started when they showed up early, which is rare in these parts. The vehicle is very nice and comfortable and we got on the road right on schedule. They are very knowledgeable about the wildlife and vegetation in Costa Rica, pointing out so many things along the way. The hike up to the waterfalls was breathtaking, I took so many pictures. We swam in the cool waters below a waterfall, hiked across a suspension bridge, then went down to the hot springs and mud bath. After that they took us for a very tasty Costa Rican lunch, the fish was to die for! There were so many things to see that I can't even remember them all. I can honestly say that I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a real Costa Rica outdoor adventure. Alex is full of energy and knowledge so prepare for a fun filled day! Best excursion I have experienced. I am a traveler and this was amongst the top. Alex, our friendly tour guide, was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He went ABOVE and BEYOND to make our day the best from serving my friends and I mangos in the hot springs, introducing us to a unique iron filled fruit to taste, taking pictures for my group to capture each moment and the list goes on and on. Our sweet driver, Christian, was the best too. He was very accommodating and even stopped the van so we could see monkeys in a tree on the side of the road. He even offered us a private coffee tour. If you are in search of a tour, this is the one! Don't wait, book it. You won't be disappointed. Please tell Alex and Christian the girls from Maryland sent you :-)
